We are Matthew and Chrissy Myers. We have been into old stones and cemeteries for years, and got back on the site a while ago. We are working on a project to do Military and Civil War graves in the NC area mostly and love taking road trips and have discovered a few old cemeteries and added them on here. I have been in the military for 16 years now. |
PHOTOS - We will add better photos if stone was not cleaned or clear for clear photo, Or does not take the whole stone, or it needs a close up to read the info. Also if the pic is discolored.

And lastly, thank you for these photos. You do such a great job. The close-ups and away shots give me a feeling for their resting place. I hope you have a great week.

Just wanted to drop you a note to thank you for searching for the gravesite of my little nephew, James. His death cert states the place of burial to be Cedar Hill cemetery but perhaps they didn't place a marker on his site. Oh well, the search goes on. Thank you, very kindly, for taking the time to try and locate him for me. I am so grateful. - Kimberly Johnson
|Nancy Towns||RE: Hi Nancy|
Hi, It's good to hear from you. It's funny that I just thought about you, Matthew. I'm in Erie, PA visiting my son and his wife, Steve and Libby Diehl Towns, who moved there a year ago. Libby is a native of Erie but Steve is Florida born and raised.
I'll have to go through my records to see if any Parish/Parrish family members lived in Johnston County. I know that my great great grandfather, Samuel Matthew Parish, is buried in the Old City Cemetery in Raleigh but I don't know where his father, Matthew Parish, or grandfather, Brissy Parish, is buried. It could be Johnston but it also could be Granville where Matthew Parish was listed in the 1850 Census. Some of my younger Parish relatives are buried in Oakhill in Raleigh. The spelling of the name Parish and Parrish has been used by children within the same family.

Thanks so much for the information. If they were there you would have probably added them.
Thanks again, Earl
