His first bill he submitted, sponsored, and was passed was the Virginia Cemetery Bill, which forbade any destruction and/or plowing them under of them!

He alone saved the Wild Turkey (Meleagris gallopavo silvestris) from being becoming extinct when he was Chairman of Virginian Wildlife. Yes this is the Bird which the Country TURKEY attained that name. Tom, hen , and poults all.
Benjamin Franklin wanted this as our national Bird.

Prefix edits
I never like it when my edits are rejected without knowing why. . . while I include suffix additions (Sr., Jr., I, II, III, etc.) which can add genealogical clarity, on the memorials I manage, I don't include prefixes (Col., Mr., Mrs.) which reference data and life choices (spouses, profession, military rank) best represented elsewhere as is the case with your edit requests.

Regards, Philip in NYC

RE: Key, Chitwood families
Dear Mr. Jonathan Robert De Mallie,

I only recently found my family line to the Chitwood and Key families, through the Creekmore and Burns family. To say I am stunned at the connection to Francis Scott Key is putting it mildly! I would very much enjoy learning what the exact connection is.

I was simply entering in the family ancestors' names which were provided to me in a very concise format by my cousin from the Creekmore line. We found each other through DNA analysis, and have long confirmed our relationship is true. I do not currently belong to the DAR, but have relations that do, and could easily belong through a number of patriot ancestors, on my mother's side alone. As far as the OES question, I know that my mother belonged to a young women's group (DOJ), and that my grandfather was a 33rd degree Mason, as were a number of my Creekmore ancestors; however I have not have personal membership, as I was not raised to do so.

My Fink ancestry is on my Father's side. The furthest I can go back is to John Dietrich Fink, who emigrated to the US from Breitenbach, Kassel, Hessen, Germany. His son was Frederick Dietrich Fink, who was born in 1855 in Armstrong County, PA. I would like to do further research on this line.

Could we further communicate via private email? Mine is karinjthomas65@gmail.com.

Thank you!

Karin

Key, Chitwood families
Thank you for your beautiful memorials to the members of the Chitwood and Key families - I am a direct descendent of Mattias Chitwood Sr. (my 7th great grandfather) and John Key Sr. (my 8th great grandfather).

An educated guess would be that you have a great deal more history about these ancestors to share, and I would very much appreciate it if you would contact me. My email is karinjthomas65@gmail.com

Thank you

RE: Wrong Picture
I'm so very sorry to have taken so long to get back to you about Isabella Ramsay Macomb Bloomfield, widow of Governor Joseph Bloomfield, as listed on Findagrave.com. Please tell me more about how to find the correct picture for Mrs. Bloomfield. As you pointed out, you believe the picture I have posted of her is not her. I cannot dispute that as it is the only picture I have and I was told it was her. I appreciate your help.

Hi and thanks for writing to me. I posted the photo for the Dodd family cemetery, but I am not the manager of the memorial, so I am unable to link the father and son. Maybe the manager can link them for you.

Are you related to the Dodd's from Nelson County? I am connected to them by marriage, but I am good friends with a branch of the "living" Dodd's. They are great folks -- like sisters to me!

Take care,
Amanda

Catherine B (Jewell) Jennings #127484632
Hello! Thank you for creating such an informative memorial for Catherine (Jewell) Jennings. She is my 2X great grandmother.

One minor correction:

Willie Ann Jennings was not her child. Willie Ann's parents were Powhatan Perrow Jennings and his second wife, Elizabeth Rhodes.

The children I have for Catherine are:

William Henry Jennings
John Thomas Jennings
Charles Edward Jennings
Frances Ann Jennings
Zachariah Taylor Jennings
Benjamin Franklin Jennings

I have seen references to a James or Jessie Jennings born about 1830, but I have not been able to find out anything about him at all.
