Ann, don't want to upload the Obit on your site and apparently cannot send it through their message service. I would be very interested in information on the family. Mary Cook Townsend is my 3rd Great Grandmother. If you can e-mail me at
firstname.lastname@example.org,I will send you her Obit and some of the other articles I have..
|Patti Bell||Mary Cook Townsend Dudley|
Ann, Mary Cook Townsend lived with her son George Warren Dudley. She died 4 Dec 1908 in St Louis, Missouri. She was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Upper Alton, Madison county, Illinois. Upper Alton had been George W's family home for many years, he,his wife and some of their children are also buried there. I have attached a article at his FG memorial about a Dudley family reunion that will verify Mary C. I also have her obituary if you would like it...

Hello Ann. I wouldn't be responding if I did not have more than a casual interest in the genealogy of Peter Risser. This is because my wife is a Risser from Lititz, PA., and a direct descendant. I have written a genealogy of this Risser line titled "Our Risser Family", and a copy is at the Lititz Public Library. I just want to get this right because all the researchers I have read agree with the tombstone, and have him being born in Friedelsheim, Germany. Possibly you are right, but it is written that Hans Russer came to Friedelsheim from the German village of Ibersheim in 1711, and married ______ Lehmann in 1712. He originally came from northern Switzerland. One of the best references for this early info is from the research of Ellen Risser Farrell, "Risser Families in the Palatinate and in America", in "Pennsylvania Heritage", Vol. 10, p. 21, April 1987.

Hi Ann. I am also a descendent of Peter Risser. :) I did receive your request previously requesting the transfer and thought I had done the transfer successfully. I apologize for it not getting done earlier. I have tried it again tonight. If you still don't see it transferred to you, please let me know so I can try to figure out what I am doing wrong.

Thankyou for pointing out my error. I must have been sleeping when I linked Benjamin to her. Didn't pay attention very well when I connected them....
I covered this entire section of the cemetery and his stone must not have been there. It's POSSIBLE that he was buried there with no stone. Lots of times there are empty spaces in between stones where another might have been at one time. Where a spouse might have been....But then that would be just an assumption if he were.....
I'd go back and check but it's a bit of a drive......

I've transferred the Thompson memorials to you as requested.
Unfortunately Henry Braun (creator of the Inez Thomson memorial) passed away in May 2013. I advised FindAgrave of his death in early July but there has been no response to date.
There is a memorial for Einz Thompson that I created but the date of death is 2 years off your DOD. (I think this may be CW Thompson's wife)
Thank you for all that you do for Find A Grave
