Bio and Links
Bio Photo Born and raised in LaFayette, NY, now living in the Kenwood area of Oneida, NY. I have always had an interest and deep respect for cemeteries and grave sites.

I love taking a random walk through the online cemetery here. What a wealth of memories of so many special souls.

All four of my grandparents immigrated to the United States from Poland in the early 1900s. In fact, all of my grandparents knew each other in Poland. The Kurgan and Mnich families were friends when they both settled in Syracuse. My parents married in 1939, and in 1946 moved to LaFayette, NY where our family enjoyed the fruits of my parents' labor...both figuratively and literally. My Dad planted an apple orchard in about 1928, and was a commercial apple grower, in addition to his full-time job at Crouse-Hinds Company in Syracuse. Dad also grew an abundant garden at home which fed our family well. Mom was a phenomenal cook and baker, as well as working at the LaFayette Public Library for many years. My siblings and I truly had wonderful childhoods for which we are grateful.

Many thanks to my dear husband Richard for being my companion in walking the cemeteries. He has a very special gift: when we are searching for a particular grave and not having any success in finding it, he will call upon the departed by name and ask them to help us. Very often we will immediately see their marker, and it will be in a spot that we thought we thoroughly searched. Coincidence? I think not!

I do delete my messages from this page, but only after I have read them and saved them. Thank you especially to those who have left flowers on my loved ones' memorials. I truly appreciate your visits.

Thank you so much for what you are doing. Clarence "Bud" was my mother's cousin. He & Margaret made a trip to Nebraska to visit with us.

RE: Dorothy & Richard Radke photos
Hi Nanette, I forgot to ask you. would you like me to email you the pictures too? you have to reduce the file size so much to post, I don't know how good they would be if you wanted to print them out or to save them to a different file.

Let me know, I would be happy too.

I'm headed down there this week, can you call the cemetery (585) 591-8004
to see what section he's in? I won't have much time when I'm there so I'll grab only a few with sections posted. Thanks!
