Glad I could do it. I am always moved when I visit Port Hudson National Cemetery.

I got pics today per your request for Jacob Schmidt's grave. I had to take the close-up pic of the gravestone at a bit of an angle to keep the sun from glaring off of the face of the stone. I am going back up there tomorrow right by there. I think I will try getting a better picture of the stone when the sun is at a different angle so I don't have to take the picture at an angle.

Hi Michael, I tried to send you an e-mail concerning Leo Schneider and his wife Amelia. I have added the link between the two but see no duplicates of them in this cemetery. IF you would like me to transfer them over to you as they are not direct ancestors of mine, I would be most happy to do this. Please let me know.

I've accepted your photo request. There are articles in the Historical Oregonian regarding his death and estate - I can send them to your e-mail or post them on the memorial. Which do you prefer?

I am the great-great-granddaughter of Ed Murphy. Thank you for maintaining his page. With it being here I have been able to find many of my family members.

First I must apologize, her stone had been completely face down. Luckily my husband was with me! Sadly we ran out of water to clean it! So please if you would like a better photo let me know. I will gladly go back with more water.
