Delilah Row
This is the most that I have heard about her. I heard about the out-of-the-way grave site. Maybe it will be something we will not find out, especially if the site is not marked. Thank you for letting me know what you have heard. Susan

Plumbtree, I am also a decendant of AJ. I noticed you put the picture of his stone on the memorial. Do you have any idea if his first wife, Delilah was buried there with him? I couldn't tell by looking at the engraving. Sometimes the spouse is written on the opposite side.

Samuel is listed as Plot E21 and having a stone. I could not find it, but i asked the memorial manager to add that so maybe someone else can find and read it.

Yes, grandpa's father was named Abram. I have his wife's name of course but there is a whole lot of speculation out there about her mother. What info I got about Abram's wife is that she was mostly Indian which info came first hand from my dad, his brothers and sister. Luther looks Indian and so did my dad and his brothers. I have never found anyone that seems to know that. Abram got his leg shot off during the war and so made his own. Quite a story. Any more questions that I might have answers to let me know. Will be changing email address after the 19th. Connie Carpenter

RE: Family Pictures
Hello Chuck,

Sorry, I don't have any more pictures.
However, the picture I posted is a cropped one.
Mary is holding a little boy named Walter taken in 1881. Because the boy is sleeping it pretty much could be a post mortem picture and those are not permitted to post on Find A Grave.
Maybe you can tell me if she had a son named Walter and if he died between the age of 1 or 2 years.
I don't have the original photo but I can send you the scan.
Just let me know.

Regards
Boatswain

WALTER
Saw a photo of your grandmother on "Antique Photo Album Post Mortem Photography"
http://www.antiquephotoalbum.nl/pmgalleries/details.php?image_id=5931

And was wondering why there was no information given on Find a Grave for the baby pictured in her lap? The information about the picture says the baby's name was Walter. It APPEARS to be a post-mortem of him with your grandmother. He looks to be somewhere between a year and two years old.

Do you know anything about baby Walter?

Hempsteads in Cedar Grove
Hello,
I located the lot of Hempsteads and Edward's stone. It is not in very good shape. I took several pictures of his stone (which includes other people on it as well) and took pictures of the entire plot. I'd like to send them to you via email so that you can decide which one(s) you'd like to have me put on his memorial. Feel free to email me directly at jawatrous@aol.com.

Pastor Dan
Connecticut Plumbes
Hi Chuck,

By way of introduction I too am a Plumbe descendant and a retired (almost) pastor (United Methodist). In my case the immigrant family is John and Elizabeth (Green) Plumbe. My line continues Joseph and Susannah (Newton) Plumbe and Noah and Abiah (Platt) Plumbe. Their daughter Abiah Plumbe married Andrew Nichols so that is the end of the Plumbe Surname for me.

I would like to exchange imformation - and, if you know, was there a close family tie between John and Benoni Plumbe?

Blessings,

Dan Stone

I have added some of the photos you are looking for from that cemetary. As you will see some of the stones are in bad shape. If you feel that there are not enough key points to be sure the headstones are accurate enough to be posted I will understand if you delete them. That cemetary is not in the best city and vandals have destroyed some of the stones as has time. I will go back when the temp is above freezing. ;)
