We are David & Effie. We were born and raised in upstate South Carolina. I found Find A Grave in 2009 and now David has joined me in a search for our "lost" family members. We sincerely hope that along the way our contributions to this site will help others find theirs. |
We wish to thank those who have made memorials for our family members and those who have transfered management of them to us. We especially want to thank those who have made the corrections we requested, as correct and complete data is the key to accomplishing our goals.
Our primary sources of information for our memorials, other than direct knowledge of burial, are grave marker photos and obituaries. We use these sources as backup for our entries, as we DO NOT make any without proof of burial location.
Our motto is... to err is human, and to correct is necessary. Please contact us if you find an error on our memorials or if you have missing information that we can add to make an appealing and honorable memorial. We will gladly correct any errors on our entries, make additions, add links or transfer memorials if they are not related to us. (please use the EDIT tab and make a suggestion option on the memorial for any request.)
We understand that a photo says more than a thousand words, and is a very important part of family research. It is our pleasure to offer our photos for personal genealogical purposes. You may re-post on Find A Grave if you will have the courtesy to give us credit in the caption of the photo. Otherwise, DO NOT RE-POST!
Everyone is welcome to visit and leave a flower for our immediate family members listed below or any of our memorials and once again, we wish to thank all of our Find A Grave friends who have done a wonderful job in helping preserve our heritage and making this a wonderful site.

I was wondering what the Adm in front of Martha Adeline Seay name stands for. I thought it was for Admiral, but I don't think that is it. I look forward to your reply.

I submitted an edit for your Juliah Blackwell gravestone transcription. I was there in Nov 1972. At that time the marker was still standing in one pretty legible piece. The only thing that was not completely clear was the month of her death. This is my transcription:
Julia P. Siller (across the top arch of the stone)
Daughter of D.T. and M. L. Blackwell
Born March 11, 1881
Died (illegible) 23, 1883
There is also a footstone: J.P.S.B. (It is still pretty easy to read.)
I don't know your connection to Julia. She was the daughter of my Great, Great Grandparents, David Taylor and Mary Louisa Crocker Blackwell. Do we connect?
