It was so nice to meet you! How unusual was that?! We just got home a couple of hours ago. It is always nice to travel, but even better to get home.
I read both of your memorials, and looked at the photos you have added. I am so touched by the research you've accomplished and your writeup on your Great Aunt Pearl Bachtel. Wow -- what a life story she had! Sad, but very powerful. If you find more on her, or update your entry, please let me know. Does anyone in your family have a photo of her? If not, you may find one on a police record.
Also, the photo you added of Rebecca Crites Casto is amazing! And your photo of Charles Edward Smith's gravestone on the hill site is wonderful, exactly what I love about going to older cemetaries. Are they related to your family?
I took several photos when we were cleaning up my friend's family gravesite where so many of her family are buried, and will soon add photos of interesting markers of absolute strangers. There were two handmade markers, one in very bad shape, but so moving. I assume the people could not afford carved stone memorials. In our family, it sometimes took years to gather enough money to put a marker up.
I enjoyed watching you and your fine energetic sons having fun in the pool. Happy researching and grave site hunting!
I notice you put a picture of a headstone on Charles Franklin Clinton. He is my grandpa who is buried in the same cemetery as Charles Bingley Clinton . The picture you put on Charles Franklin Clinton is Charles Bingley Clinton. Charles Bingley Clinton is mygreat great grandpa. Thanks for putting the picture. I notice you state you are related to Casto. Me too. Are you related to Clintons of West Virginia?
