I am completely fascinated with genealogy and have always enjoyed visiting cemeteries. Unfortunately, I do not live near where my family are buried. As such, I've joined Find a Grave to hopefully visit my families' graves from afar and pay back the kindness of others for their photos by taking photos of graves near where I live.|
While taking photos to fulfill requests, I often snap photos of nearby headstones to upload as well. If they do not have a record in Find A Grave, I will add them and upload their photos. I am also currently working on uploading some area cemeteries into Find A Grave. I am more than happy to transfer these into the care of friends/family. Please just leave me a message and include the Find A Grave memorial number and I will transfer them as soon as possible. Also, I am human. This means that I can make a mistake. If you notice something, please send a Suggest a Correction and I'll correct records as soon as possible.
If you are interested in the original sizes of any of the photos that I've uploaded, I'd be happy to email them to you. I am also happy to revisit cemeteries and try and get inscriptions if they are not quite legible in the photos.
Please ask permission to use photos I have taken before using them. Chances are good that I will say yes. :)

Thanks so much.
I now know the name of another one of my great-great grandfathers, and that he was a rabbi.
If plans work out, I hope to go up and spend a day visiting various cemeteries in the area.
|Bob Goldberg||RE: Anna Goncarsky|
Thank you so much for the prompt reply. I actually have her in the Rodfe Zedek cemetery. A photo will be incredibly helpful! Does it actually show her as Anna Tischler Goncharsky? Or Anna T. Goncharsky?
I hope some time in the near future to get up there, as I have MANY relatives buried in various cemeteries in that area. I really want to get some good photos so I can translate the Hebrew.
I think I actually have a several other relatives in Rodfe Zedek (Charley and Anna Schein Bredt, whose son (my grandfather) married the daughter of Anna Tischler Goncharsky). There are also some Scheins there, but I have to dig more to see if they are the same family.
Do you go to the Rosedale Cemetery (United Hebrew Cemeteries?) at all (Chernigover, Tifereth Israel Anshe Sfard, Progressive Sick Benefit & Relief Assoc. Cemetery, Radomer Verein Cemetery). I have more Goncharskys (my Mom's side) as well as Goldbergs (my Dad's side) there, and elsewhere.
Can you tell me what parking is like? If not, no worries.

Thank you for taking the time to find, photo and forward a copy of the grave marker. As luck would have it, you also helped find the other Dubins we were trying to find.
If I can ever be o help to you in the Detroit, MI area, please let me know.

I located the lot--but the stone memorializes only Alma Schmidt. I noted that you were looking for a birth date for Florence Schnitzer and checked Social Security records on Ancestry.com--

|Lois Steinberg||RE: Solomon (Sol) Goverman|
Dear c. Miller: If you would have only let me know when you were going to the cemetery I would have done everything possible to help make your trip an easier one. Mr. Bill Beseri is the caretaker of the Ohel Yaakov Cemetery and told me he would "flag" the graves of my family once he knows when I am coming. Please email me for his phone number.
As for my uncle Sol Goverman, I find it perplexing that findagrave.com does not have the info. I can only assume he is buried next to his wife, Sarah Goverman or close by in the Baltimore Hebrew Cemetery. Sarah Goverman is buried in the Baltimore Hebrew Cemetery according to findagrave.com. I wrote to a cousin asking for plot info if he has it. I don't have any info on where Sol is buried because I cannot find it on the internet or any obituary for him at all!!!!!
Thanks for your help.
PS You already told me you located Mary Goverman's grave and it is in the children's section (not well kept up) at Ohel Yaakov Cemetery. Ohel Yaakov is the very last entrance of all the cemeteries grouped together on Bowleys. Mary Goverman died in approx. 1918.
Thank you for your help.
Many thanks for photographing
