Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in Burlington Vermont, but spent a great amount of time traveling from place to place, first because of my father's military service and then because of my military service. I now live in Texas. I am primary researching Brothers, Couture, & Martin families, originating from Burlington, Winooski, and Williamstown Vermont. Secondary research includes those married into the 3 main families, and are too numerous to list.

I discovered find-a grave when researching my family history. Any photo I request is to complete the history of the journey of a ancestor, most of which are in Vermont, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. Since there is no way that I could possibly visit each grave, find-a-grave is the next best thing.

I want to thank those people who go out of their way for strangers, and obtain pictures of the grave stone. Some people have done more than just take pictures, some have even research the deceased, and passed information on to me. I sincerely appreciate everyone's time and effort.

If I manage a memorial of someone who has a closer relationship to you than me, and you want management of the memorial, ask, and I will be happy to make a transfer.

If you want to make a recommendation, or have a request concerning a memorial, please use the edit function of the memorial page, otherwise leave a message below.

Robert Tarbell
Robert M. Tarbell grave site
Hello Rickb,
Thank you for the work on my Father's grave site information. Dad did not graduate from West Point. He finished his last 2 years at Iowa State in Ames. He was commissioned in WWII, with the rank of Major, 303d Ordinance Regiment, John Deere Batt, from Syracuse N.Y. John Deere Plant, and served on Saipan where I believe he did receive a bronze star. I would like to look up his military awards. Do you know how to find military records?

Jennie Ireland #62600110
Hello rickb...I also have a copy of that photo you added to Jennie's memorial. You have info about her and my Granduncle Raymond #62634983 that noone I know or have run into outside my known family members would know. I'd love to have email communication with you if you are interested? Please email me at One thing I'd like to know is if you have proof that Harry Lane, Jennie's 2nd husband, actually legally adopted Raymond? We've always assumed that my great grandmother simply changed his name when she married Harry and my grandmother Gladys was born? I'm guessing you're related to the Laflin's, which I know next to nothing about and am very interested in learning more...Thanks!

RE: Oh....
You're welcome. If you let me know who the Northey parents are, I could check county records and see if I can locate them.

Robert Tarbell
Clarence Tarbell & Robert M. Tarbell
Clarence Tarbell was my grand father, and Robert was my father. Clarence had 3 sons. My Father, and his two brothers, Charles and Martin. Charles was also a member of the Mayflower Society, and was buried in Dallas next to his wife. Charles had a son in Little Rock. The resting place of Martin in unknown. Regarding the remains of a child buried at the feet of Sarah: I do not know of any. The grave site has been in my family's name since the death of my grand parents, and I was never told of the remains of another person.

Alma Parker
Rick, I checked my work too and discovered that the confusion of the two women was initiated by me when I put the birth and death dates of your Alma into the memorial of mine. I have mine straightened out now. There is possibly no memorial yet for your Alma.

Alma Coffman Parker

There must be some sort of mistake. My Alma Parker was married to Hoy Parker and not the three men you mentioned.

Find A Grave contributor rickb has made a suggestion to you regarding your Find A Grave memorial for Alma Parker.

Their suggestion:
Married three times: Rudolf Aaron Poe (1910 2007)
Robert Morse Tarbell (1901-1959)
Raymond Parker (1910-?)

At the foot of Sarah Tarbell's grave is a grave for an infant, Carolyn Tarbell. There is no stone for her.

RE: Aurora Burnham #118957488
Agreed, Rick. If I were to make a guess, I'd say she probably was cremated and the ashes placed with her daughter. Just a hunch. In any event, we want to get it right. Let me know what you want to do once this is sorted out.
