RE: Hallmark
Joyce, yes I know Joel. He helped me a lot when I was working on information for my membership into "DAR." He also gave me wrong information that had been handed down to him which gave me problems on my application. All his records showed my g-g grandfather's name as Joseph Marvin Palmer who died July 31, 1900. That is what I put on my application, it was refused because they found no one with that name and date of death. When I found pension papers that his wife Permelia had filed, we found that his name was Joseph McKissick Palmer and that he died June 13, 1981. We used this information and my application was approved. I have a copy of the receipt for the order of his gravemarker. Check the other census for Mary. One list her name as Francis, the other as Margaret F. I have to believe the parents did not give two of their children the same name. Other people are telling me that Mary is a nickname for Margaret, and since I have found living family members, I must go with Margaret.
Thank you,
Olva

RE: 2 Palmer graves
Joyce,
No, she has not responded to me. I asked her to transfer the memorials to me quite sometime ago, but as you said, no response. Of course, she isn't required to transfer them since they are not direct descendants.
I think I will take your suggestion and send FindAGrave an email about the situation since they are related to me. Let's see what they tell me.
Do you think she is still active? I have worked with her before.
Will let you know when I find out something.

Relatives:
Joyce, you listed that you were related to the Browns, so am I. Are you related to William Marion Brown the Union soldier who was killed in Marion County, here in AL? He was my g-g grandfather. I ordered him a military marker a few years ago. He is buried in Brown-Ballard Cemetery. Are you familiar with that cemetery? Your husband is related to the Sparks, Belmont, MS Sparks? They are my relatives.
