I started doing family tree research in late 2011 and started adding family members here as a result. Most of my family is from Iowa; since I live in Las Vegas, my access to their records and markers is limited mostly to family and online sources; I add people or request transfers only when I have firm information. Nearly everyone I manage is a relative, so if you're related too, say hello!

RE: Julia May
You're welcome. The manager had a difficult time locating her record, but we finally managed. Glad to be of assistance.

RE: Julia May
Mike, I'll check with the cemetery manager and see if they have any record of her burial there, then let you know. I'm looking into several other burials for other people, too. So be patient with me, LOL :)

I'll do what I can for you.

Bless you,
Mrs. Larson

RE: Re: Fred May
Hi Mike,

Allie is buried next to Leonard. She has a memorial page under the name Allie (Meyers) Hanna (82844938), per Find A Grave naming guidelines. Her prior marriage to Charles Perry is addressed in the bio section.

I have photos of their markers, but the sun was low in the sky and somewhat behind them. I'll eventually get the photos posted, but plan to rephotograph the markers next summer, during the morning hours. They are fairly close to the May graves, probably within 50 yards.

Hi Mike,

You've got Fred's memorial page, and who am I to break up a matched set? I'll go ahead and transfer her to you as well. I'm glad that between the two of us, we've got them together again.

RE: Re: Fred May
Hi Mike,

There is a marker for Frances May Davis next to Fred's marker. May could have been her middle name, or she could have been Fred's widow who remarried and took the name Davis.

I didn't even connect them until your request for additional information.

I usually only research names that I am creating memorial pages for, but I just looked Fred up in The 1930 U.S. census for Waterloo, Black Hawk, Iowa records his wife's name as Francis (misspelling for Frances). I'll go ahead and link him to her.

Also, there is a VFW Ladies Auxillary marker just above Fred's veteran marker.

H Mike,

I have posted the photo. Your uncle's marker has the most perfectly formed patina that I have seen on any other bronze marker. I know, because I have seen thousands of them, and his is the purest one that I've seen.

His grave is located on a gentle slope near the southwestern edge of the cemetery.
