I am member who is doing photo requests/random photos after locating a family member's gravestone on Find A Grave.

Please do not copy my photos and claim them as your own..I am happy to transfer a memorial to you if you are related..all you have to do is ask!!

If I have added a gravestone photo of your ancestor and you would prefer that it not be posted..just ask me to have it problem with doing this.

I will add your contributor's number to any edits that you send me. So that others will know the source of added information and can contact you with any further questions or research info.

Thanks to everyone who has had to endure my transition period concerning the edit issue. I certainly appreciate all your trouble/effort through this time and hopefully this new way of doing edits will solve this "problem".

Good luck with your genealogy!!

RE: Thomas McQuay
Thank you so much for the bio! My husband's great uncle, john B Hartranft was drafted twice into service in Michigan for the Civil War. Both times the units disbanded before heading out. The third time he decided to pay the $200 to have someone go in his place. This unit actually made it to the fight. Three of his brothers and four of his uncles did serve and all came home!
Again, thank you!

I am not related-I am trying to ad as much cemetery info as I can. Our church will be 200 years old in 2016, and like many small country churches, its future is questionable as the congregation shrinks.

I have been working on a 200th year history book that will include early records (baptisms, burials, communion and marriages) plus the history. We plan to have it for sale on Amazon in late spring next year.

We are also (hopefully) planning a day that we honor the veterans buried there-especially the civil war ones, which Thomas McQuay is one, that will include the local Legion, re-enactors etc. Every veterans name will be read, along with his regt.

If you would like to send me a bio on them I would love to keep it at the church-nothing huge-just a brief one. We have also been putting bios and tidbits in the bulletin.

I love the Pa Death Cert!! Best thing ever!

Nathaniel Bissell (1640-1714) gravestone photo
May I have your permission to download the photo of the gravestone of Nathaniel Bissell (Memorial# 50428251)?
I would like to upload the photo into my Ancestry family tree.
Thank you for your consideration.

Experience Johnson
Hi Sara, when you were at the cemetery in Tolland photographing the Allen family, did you happen to notice a grave for Experience Johnson? He was Elizabeth Sargent Allen's first husband. There is a headstone for their daughter. Experience died a year earlier. There appear to be headstones for all other members of the family. Thanks for any info!

Many thanks
Aloha Sara,

I just today connected a relative to my tree who happens to be my 6X ggf! He was in my unknown file for quite a while... and thanks to you, there are photos of his grave stone in East Cemetery. You have been an enormous help to me in finding the final resting places of so many of my ancestors in the Tolland area... if only I had known all this when I lived in East Longmeadow, MA! But then I was busy raising a young family and my husbandʻs career took us far from New England. So, many, many thanks to you for all you do for the find a grave community and for me in particular...
