Sinner Saved by the Grace of God. Calvinist by the Five Points. West Virginian by birth. Virginian by family history, choice, and the Grace of God. Physician Assistant/retired Navy Officer, now working for the Army at Ft. Lee, VA. Thirty second degree Mason. When writing or rewriting the bio of an especially noted person my goal it to create something a high schooler can use as the starting point for a term paper. Always ready to discuss Mr. Jefferson, I posted the bios of him, of his dear Patty and Patsy, and three of his biographers. Proud Southerner and member of the SCV (AP Hill Camp #167, Petersburg, VA). Actor/American Revolution (Patrick Henry's speech at St. John's Church, though I don't play Mr. Henry) interpreter. Member of the American Legion; Life Member of the NRA.
Professional memberships include the John Bell Hood Historical Society, the Edgar Allan Poe Foundation, the Army Society of Physician Assistants, and the Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities (APVA)
My roots are in Southwestern Virginia, and southern West Virginia...family names would be Hufford (and the alternative spelling Huffard), Caldwell, Taylor, Ross, Bowman, and Farley, though I confess that my knowledge is limited.
Errors of fact, grammar, or spelling are 100% MINE. Please notify me when you catch them. Famous memorials are NOT 'first come first served' and people named "anonymous" will be ignored...unfortunately past events force me into a policy of deleting any unsolicited page sent to me.
My thanks to all who visit my dear Leila and our good friend Mo. God Bless you for your kindness! | |

 | Doris Eaton Travis Hi BOB, I just wanted to say that I loved your Doris memorial very much. It was so informative and showed that you put alot of heart into it. When I see some of the short bio's and know that with a little more research it would really reflect a life lived if there were more care taken to do some research. Take care and blessings... | | | C.S.
 | RE: Chuck Muncie Thanks for catching that error Bob. I sent the correction in. I guess I have baseball on the mind since it is baseball season, lol.

 | Matthias (Mathias) Hoffer Hello, I was doing some research on our ancestor and noticed that on Findagrave.com there are two submissions for Matthias. You may want to check out Find A Grave Memorial# 58957531 as there is a photo of the gravestone for Matthias and family showing there. I asked the page owner about why the grave is listed as 50 feet away and his guess is that the farmer plowed the field (unexcusable, in my opinion) and that a non-profit placed the stone there to at least have the family plot remembered. --tpetrieAdded by TPetrie on May 01, 2012 10:38 PM | | | AMB

 | Thanks Thanks for the message. I love T. Jefferson. Although there is some thing special to me about Benjamin Harrison and Edward Rutledge. All of my hero's seem to be from the South. I am visiting Virginia at the end of May. I am of course going to Monticello, Stratford Hall, Berkeley Plantation and Colonial Williamsburg. I have less than a week, but I figure what I don't see will give me a reason to come back. I am also going to Charleston. I am staying at the Edward Rutledge Home. In what they say was his room. Of course I am doing Middleton Plantation. I am only going to be there for 4 days and there is a big festival going on. So, if I have time I may check it out, but I am all about the History. Then, I am off to Philadelphia. I would love to go to the College of William and Mary and study History. I applied for a position at Monticello, but I know when they see a California address my resume will be round filed. Oh well, Law Enforcement isn't such a bad gig. I would have added Judge Roane to my Virtual Cemetery, but it's been so long since I've updated it, I forgot how to. Also, I see that find a grave does grave sponsorship. Do you know what that means? Anyway, gotta go tomorrow's my birthday and my family wants to do some thing for me. I thought I had it today by going to the Pow Wow and having Fry Bread.
