In my youth, I often looked through the box of old family images and negatives that was stored far away in the closet. Who are these people and what do they mean to me? While at college, my Architectural studies allowed me the opportunity to work in the Photo Lab. This experience enabled me to take those negatives and make them real, and as such was my first opportunity to create a family album and to understand our family's history. The start of a life long effort! |
The advent of the computer and the internet just made it all that much easier. Over the years I have enjoyed making connections with family in the name of family research. There is a lot of information available from various sources and it takes one family member to organize it and make it available to all!
As past president of Clan MacCallum/Malcolm Society of North America Inc and now their "Family History Coordinator" I truly value our rich heritage and I endeavor to assist others in their ancestry quest.

Neil, thanks for linking family members for me. Do your records indicate Lenna husband George buried next to her? He died May 15, 1934, Devils Lake, North Dakota.
Lenna was born in 1888 not 1868 as George and her were married November 8, 1910. I tried to enlarge the gravestone maker to double check.
If he is buried their let me know and I can set him up on Find A Grave and link the family together.
Thanks for all your contributions to Find A Grave.

Thank you for responding to my request for a photo of Robert's stone and checking with the cemetery. I appreciate your help. Mary
Thank you for permission to use your photographs. I will absolutely give you credit for your pictures.
I usually note who took the picture, where the person was from (as in your case - Find A Grave Photo Volunteer) or how the person who owns the picture is related to a person in my tree. I also note the date/location the picture was taken.
This is to give credit to who owns the picture as well as to keep my "source" records accurate.
Your volunteer services are extremely valuable to family members and family researchers.
I am so thankful to the entire Find A Grave community, from the people who post memorials for our loved ones to members, such as yourself, who take time from their day to go to the cemetery to take pictures for us ~ thank you just doesn't seem to be enough to express our gratitude.
Again, God Bless You and your family,
