I've just recently (2009) got started into family geneology studying. I am a descendant of Arter, King, Kinney, Ragor, Gadd, Underhill - families on my mother's side - who originally migrated to northern Muskingum County, Ohio in the late 1700's and into the 1900's. My father's side would be Jones, Plumley, Seright, Drake, Leasure from SE Muskingum County Ohio.

Brouse thru my Virtual Cemetery. These are all my 'grandparents' from various generations (who I've been able to dig up - not "literally") and also my Dad. Are you related to any of them? If so, please contact me.

With the help of my second cousin, Doug Kreis, a local geneologist - I've been able to find out several bits of info on some of these families - and, in quite a few cases - their actual grave locations.
David Jones.

RE: Elizabeth Fones Winthrop Feake
David,

Not at all.

The Elizabeth Fones/Robert Feake/William Hallett story is quite a tale, pretty scandalous for those times.

I don't have a lot of info. on the Kings. John King, who married Mary Bowne, came over to New York in the 1780s with his father. I believe they were from the city of New Castle, England.

'Jones' must be a tougher slog - being such a common name. I was lucky, I already had a Leah Jones m. a Jenkins going in into my research. This was in Hull, MA around 1749. Turns out this Jones family had a Sarah Jones m. a Mordecai Lincoln two generations prior. That's Lincoln as in the 16th Pres. of the United States.

Good luck. Thanks for getting back.

Greetings,

We may be related. I descend from Elizabeth Feake's
daughter, Hannah, who m. John Bowne. Of course,
Hannah's sister, Elizabeth, m. John Underhill.

I'm curious about your King ancestry. Were your Kings in Ohio originally from New York (Manhattan
or Flushing, Queens)? Reason I ask John/Hannah Bowne's gg grdaughter, Mary, m. a John King in New York.

Your Jones ancestry? Does that go back to Col.
Massachusetts?

Thanks.
