RE: The Cole Family
I've worked sporadically on our family's genealogy, and just came across your message. I'm not sure if I responded. Are you still working on the Cole project? Please email me at for private communication.

Thank you.

Francis F. Ladwig
Thank you so much for adding the photo of my great-great-grandfather Francis F. Ladwig at Graceland. Actually the stone is for Francis, wife Elise and three adult sons: Edwin R., Walter F., and Felix A. Ladwig. There were all cremated and their urns buried together when moved from Fairview. I just added the memorial a couple of weeks ago. Did you already have the photo, or were you alerted to the new Francis F. Ladwig memorial and then took the photo?

I have just really gotten active on Find A Grave and am searching and making entries from my years of genealogy.

Thank you so much for ALL your work on this project. I hope to get more involved and answer photo requests in the area. Bless you.

RE: Katherine (Piersch) Bingen
Hi John,

Thank you for writing. I actually have very few photos of the Bingens besides a picture of (Johann b. 1819) and some of his descendants:

If you have any pictures I'd be glad to see them.

RE: Karl Christian (1866-1897)
Hi again! Found memorial for Karl Herman Christian's son, Leonard William (## 8731983) linked to his spouse Edna but showing birthdate of 1895 instead of 1896. My records (censuses and his WWI Draft Card Registration #780 under "Leonardt Christian") show his birth year as 1896. Once proved, this son can be linked to Karl and Alwina's Find A Grave Memorials.

RE: Karl Christian (1866-1897)
Most of Carl and Emilie Christian's children were married at Immanuel Lutheran in Lebanon, Dodge Co WI but one (Louis Christian) was married at St. Matthews Lutheran in 1893. Perhaps they married in Watertown (Jefferson Co) WI?

Here's another link I found that might prove that Alwina Braunschweig married William Francis Kulke in April 1905. This could be a second or even third marriage for her as it shows parents as Caroline Tietz and Lewis (Ludwig?) Braunschweig. Hope this helps.

RE: Karl Christian (1866-1897)
Yes, I have the marriage record from two sources: Dodge Co Genealogical Society Lebanon Dodge Co Church records and Wisconsin Marriages 1836-1930.

See my additional posting on his memorial. I have suggested that the Alwina Braunschweig linked to his memorial be removed until parents are proven. She appears to be ten years younger and would have been only 20 years of age when he died.

Go to this link for one of the records online:

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
