Thanks ... I was there in the early 90's and could not find it. Cemetery was not in good condition - weeds and grass - and it started raining, so you know what the road up to Greenlee's looks like.

Oh thank-you so much!! This part of my family is so sad. I was hoping that his gravestone was visible there. I can't find his wife's gravestone but I will keep looking!

Next to Alvin is a headstone for Germaine McGill. States she was born in 1928. No death info. Is she still alive?

Hello, I am not related to Alvin McGill. I had access to Chicago Tribune obituaries and made an index of McGill and Magill obituaries that is in the McGill message board on Ancestry.com. I also set up several findagrave memorials for some of the McGills that I found. Since you are a relative, I'd be happy to transfer the memorial to you.

Nancy Ann Bollman Ferrel was my G Grandmother. She was married to Joseph Ferrel [Ferrell] 19 Mar 1857 in Wayne County IA. She and Joseph had the following children:

Seth Eligh Ferrell [1861-?]
John Thomas Ferrell [1863-?]
Susanna May Ferrell Besack [1867-?]
Emma Belle Ferrell Varner [1869-?]
Sarah Jane Ferrell Bridson [1872-?]
Lucinda Melinda [Linnie] Ferrell [1875-1953] (My G Mother)

Taken from "Biographical and Historical Records of Wayne and Appanoose Counties, IA" - page 397
"Joseph Ferrell, one of the old and respected settlers of Wayne County, was born March 30 1831, in Trumbull county Ohio . He a son of John Ferrel. His early life was passed in assisting with work on his father's farm. At the age of twenty years, he went to the State of Indiana, and remained a year in Madison county, after which he spent two years in Knox county Illinois. He then came to Wayne county Iowa, arriving here with $3.00, besides which he owned a horse. After coming to this county, he worked by the month for eight years, when he purchased a tract of land in Benton township. After improving his land in Benton township, he sold it, and in March 1878, he bought his present farm on Section 21, Jackson township, where he has since made his home. He was first married March 19, 1857, to Miss Nancy Bollman, who died April 6, 1876, leaving eight children - - Joseph E, John T, Seth E, Thomas J, Susannah May, Emma Belle, Sarah Jane and Lucretia Melinda. For his second wife Mr. Ferrell was married to Sarah Ann Henderson, April 24, 1877. The result of this marriage has been four children -- Catherine L, Williard I, Vernon and Ernest. Both Mr. and Mrs. Ferrell are earnest membrs of the Missionary Baptist Church"
