Bio Photo All good deeds must be punished, I guess. I have been requested to remove all the obituaries I have posted. Since I have posted hundreds, this is an impossible task. I will no longer contribute ANYTHING to FindAGrave.com and will limit my volunteer efforts to iowagravestones.org. The complainer did not even have the decency to sign their email, therefore most post here.

Researching Irish Catholic ancestry in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa for: BRADY, FINNEGAN, HANLON, O'CONNELL; English/Canadian ancestry for MILBURN in New Brunswick,Canada as well as Iowa, Kansas and Wyoming; German ancestry for AWALT and OCKERMAN in Indiana & Iowa. RE: FindAGrave edits
Thanks. I approve those every few days. It is much easier the the hundreds of emails I was receiving most weeks in the past.

Thank you
for transfering Mary Philby Lawton to me! I am so depressed reading your profile, I so appreciate all info that others have posted about my family and obituaries have so much valuable information. It breaks my heart that your contributions are not valued by one. Trust me, there are many, many MORE that do!

Bless you ~Lisa

Samuel Lyle Glasgow
For more information on my GGGrandfather, please see my page (2Mulshine2) for him on Ancestry.Com. My cousin, sister and I have done extensive research, together with input from other family members, so everything you could need to know about his public life is there. He was an incredible public persona, but family stories don't translate well into dates and timelines, so you won't see exactly everything. - Janet

Harriet McCune Glasgow
I am stunned that you sent this information to me. Last year I was searching, trying to verify that there was an actual body in that grave (which I visited in May). I spoke to the State Historical Society in Des Moines, and they said there would have to be a body to have a headstone, but the question was - were there any records to document that the body was sent from France? You have answered that question. This was all done in preparation for a speech I gave at a Civil War remembrance ceremony in Council Bluffs. I am a great-great granddaughter of Samuel Lyle and Harriet McCune Glasgow. Thank you so much! And isn't the obituary issue only if the newspaper is still in operation, such that it is a copyright issue? I will gladly add this information. - Janet Glasgow Mulshine
