Bio Photo I live in Oregon and started my genealogy hobby in 1976. That lasted for less than a year, and then I started again in the winter of 1998. I'm not a professional, but monitor, and have volunteered to answer some easy questions and requests for Multnomah County, Oregon, at GenForum and RootsWeb. I'm a member of the Genealogical Forum of Oregon, in Portland.

Family direct lines:
Paternal: Fenter, Hardage (Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri), 1800's.
Maternal: Campbell, Steele (Kansas, Missouri, North & South Carolina, Pennsylvania), 1800's.
Some Collateral lines of interest, Paternal: Allen, Bray, Cain, Doudy/Dawdy, Hardage, Hughes, Tanner.

I treat each headstone photo with the same care as mom did for the annual family Christmas card for relatives and friends. We all had to look our best, had several photos taken, and she chose the best photo for the card. I try to give you the best photo possible. I know how important it is to be able to read all the text on the headstone, especially if you are the family genealogist, looking for a name for an initial, a date you don't have, or the name of a spouse or child.

Find A Grave allows space for 5 photos to be loaded on each memorial for free. Therefore, I try not to upload more than 2-3 grave marker photos so there is room for you to load photos of family and documents. If you need more room for photos, please contact me and ask me to remove a photo so you have more room.

If anyone would like to use any of my grave marker photos, please contact me for permission.

Regarding requests for transferring memorials I've created, but are not in my family, please contact me, and include your member name and member number.

RE: Thank you, for the correction/Etta McCroskey....
Hi Jan,

Thank you so much, now I'll let it sit for a few days, wait and see if anything else comes up, hoping nothing, but never know. I have been searching some 16 years and just found out the true names of Etta's parent's. For years, her fathers name has been KW Anderson, then 3-years ago, I stumbled on where they were buried then it became the Andersen family, not Anderson, but never knew what the KW stood for or his wife "MC", except for 'Christina', I knew of the name 'Maren, but her last name was always a mystery and I don't have Ancestry World, never did. Long story, short. The are Knut Wehelm Andersen(51624149) and Christine Maren JOHNSEN and belonged to the Little Falls Lutheran Church., when their son Waldermar Maruis Andersen, was Christianed.

Thank you, for the correction....
Hi again, Jan!

You may want to connect 'Etta', with her parent's (starting with Thorvald @ 51624883), as well as the rest of the family.

Hope this helps, have great day.

PS: I don't know much about Etta's 2nd husband, Henry Gertz, who she married in 1975 and Henry, passed on in 1982 (I believe).

Etta E McCroskey @ l# 129764054
Hi Jan,

My name is Don Toothman and a researcher for my immediate families of the Toothman/Andersen's. I called Lincoln Memorial this morning, to find out if "Etta" (my 1st cousin, on my father's side) is actually in there..., she is, but her Crypt # is 1402, not 1412 according to "Jeff", in records and I asked Jeff twice, about the Crypt #.

It's a shame, the family can't put Etta's name up in antique gold, like her husband "Victor", unless something was done since you last took the picture.

All in all, I do want to tell you Jan, what a great job you did on the memorial's, and beautifully done, keep up the great work, as we researcher's simply could not do without you, your time and effortless dedication, and in any weather..., and speaking just for myself, you guy's and gal's out there are totally needed in this field.

GOD Bless.

Jan, thank you for your quick answer to my question. I question a lot of stuff that I find on Ancestry. I want the correct information, that helps all who are researching. Thanks again, Judy Burritt
