Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing my family and my husband's family reaearch since 2008. I would love to hear from anyone who has connections. The surnames I am researching include, Bruman, Houck, Knoche, Lange, Grobbel, Dice, Howe, Seasons, and Collins. Locations include Detroit, Warren, Centerline, Lapeer, North Branch, Burnside, Five Lakes, and Kings Mill in Michigan, McLeod County in Minnesota, Shippensburg, Pennsylvania and North Adams, Massachusetts.

I have established many memorial pages as I learn the burial sites. If I have established a memorial page for someone who is dear to you, please let me know and I will do a transfer. I am not related to anyone in Tennessee, so I am willing to transfer any Tennessee memorials. Please make your request through the edit tab on the memorial and include your ID number.

Out of respect for each individual memorialized on this site, please summarize biographical information in a nicely written paragraph rather than submitting a canned form of raw data from census records, death indices, and other documents.

Although Find a Grave allows records such as death certificates or military documents to be uploaded on the memorial pages, I would prefer you not upload them if they are findable online. It is important to leave that space available for items like photos of the person and their marker. The information found on these documents can be summarized in the biography. It is nice to open a memorial and find a cemetery photo, marker photo, or even a personal picture. I feel like I am actually virtually visiting the final resting place.

RE: Martha Jane White Brown
Hmm! Thanks for your informative message. I, too, look forward to finding the correct info on great grandmother Jane's burial site, as I would like to find out exactly where the grave is and then have a permanent marker put on it. I will call when I get home next week and hopefully can then make a trip to Kingston to see the site.

Thank you for your edits, and the explanation. I bet Rose's mother's middle name was Rose, or someone just filled out the form wrong. Is this family in your family tree?

Thanks for the typing. I do admit that obits in the bio section look neater. I don't take the time to do that because my fingers don't always hit the correct keys thus making mistakes. A picture of the obit shows only the mistakes the newspapers make;) Thanks also for telling me of the duplicate memorial. Yes, I deleted mine. I looked at the date I added the obit to Tams' memorial and had to laugh. I should have added the obit to my own memorial. I guess I did ok without even knowing it at the time. Ha!

Thank you
I've been searching for information about my Great, Great Grandmother Sarah Willie Burgess Worley for years. Your photo and location of her grave site made that connection for me that I would not have found otherwise. Thanks so very much.

C M Bailey #73040756
I have been researching a Snow family of Roane County, TN, and just located this online list of soldiers in the Mexican War who were mostly from Roane County, TN. There may be other listings of interest for you in here, but I thought you would find this particular listing to be of interest for your post for #73040756, C. M. Bailey:

Respectfully yours,
Janet Mackey-Bodine

BAILEY, Cornelius M. (age 20). He is buried in the Ambrose-Williams Cemetery, Roane Co., TN.

Mexican War Soldiers of Roane County
Compiled by Robert L. Bailey

Note: The following list of soldiers are those who enlisted at Kingston, TN, 30 Sep 1847 in Company C, 4th Infantry. Some of the soldiers may not be from Roane County but are from surrounding counties. Also, some Roane County soldiers may have enlisted in another location such as Athens. Even though there may not be a pension application, these soldiers or their widows could have applied for bounty land in the 1850's. These records come from Mexican War - Volunteer Tennessee Fourth Infantry, Microfilm Copy 638, Rolls 10 and 11.

John C. Bailey
Hi Louise,
The soldier that is interred in Piney Grove Cemetery in Roane County is not John Eblen Bailey but probably his father John C. Bailey. His service record shows that he was 45 at the time of his enlistment in 1863 so that would put his birth date around 1818. I see the person who added John Eblen Bailey stated he was a member of the 40th. There is no service record stating this fact so this was an incorrect assumption on their part. You might want to let them know that these are two different people. Thanks.

RE: The Seasons' Photos
****FIND A GRAVE will not allow this photo( which I now have set as my profile photo) to be placed in the photo area of memorials. Why? Because Find A Grave feels it is not an image that is personally attached to the deceased.
I as a wife of a Veteran and the grandmother of an active soldier feel the USA FLAG is personally attached to every veteran, after all they fought to defend it and served under this "image" IF that is not a personal attachment to the deceased veteran, then what is folks? So to the veteran's families who I had include this flag of HONOR to their memorial it was NOT removed by me but by Find A Grave. I am truely sorry that we can't show the image of our American Flag, that Veterans proudly served under, at half mask which is a sign of the quality of being thankful, appreciation for and to honor them.
I shot the photo at the Jacksonville National Cemetery as the US Flag is only at half mask Mon -Friday when a Veteran is being laid to rest. No copywrite was broken as I am the owner of photo.

Glencoe vs. Hillcrest Cemetry
It does indeed appear to be duplicates in one fashion. The difference is that the graves are not in Hillcrest cemetery they are in the Glencoe cemetery. I've transcribed & photographed both Glencoe & Hillcrest completely. I always check for duplicates prior to posting. There was no posting in the proper cemetery for these people so I listed. Hope that helps clear things up? The boundaries for the cemetery's are not all that clear unless you know exactly where they are.
