Good to hear. I suspected but couldn't proof it. Yeah. It does take a village. Best,

Re: Frank Masten

Linda,

That is a good question. The obituary says he was buried in Waynesboro, VA but there is no stone. There is a stone in Maplewood beside his wife.

My guess would be that he was originally buried in Waynesboro but the family moved him when his wife died and buried them together in Maplewood with her family (or the wife changed her mind before she died). I have encountered similar things before. Since they were both from NC, there is probably no other family in the Waynesboro cemetery.

The only way to be certain is to find out from family and that is unlikely. With the stones for both of them in Maplewood and no stone in Waynesboro, the only "evidence" is the obituary and I know from experience that an obituary can be wrong.

If it were up to me, I would delete the memorial in Waynesboro, put the obituary on the memorial in Maplewood, and add a note about the discrepancy.

Many thanks for the transfer - we home to be able to connect with family still in Ireland through this memorial. - Bob

Thanks for forwarding; since I cannot confirm that the undated stone at Thoroughfare Ch Cem is one and the same and may indeed be a pre-death gravestone, I have created a new memorial for him as the "safest" way to go. Linda

RE: Dorothy Lyle
Yes I am very grateful for transfers whenever I do get them, and I offer my sincerest apologies for my attitude and remarks. In the past, I have had many problems with F.A.G. refusing requests of family transfers. So maybe you can understand my frustration. I do appreciate the hard work of all the volunteers who take time to take photos of gravestones and post memorials. I add photos of gravestones whenever I can, and whatever information I may have.

Thank you!!

Hi,
Could you please check Bland's birthdate. He was born Feb.25,1909 and is the son of Zack and Ella. He was married to Kelly Fitzgerald. I knew Bland as I went to his house with his brother Lacy and Lacy's daughters.
