Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm a retired federal employee who fell into doing some online family research for a friend of mine - a McKenzie - and now I'm in so deep I can't get out! Most of you probably know the feeling. But it's a harmless obsession which I enjoy so I'll stick with it until I pull out the rest of my disappearing hair. I try to post most of my findings on Find A Grave so if you're interested in the McKenzie family who settled in central Missouri after emigrating from North Carolina via Kentucky, just enter the last name - mckenzie - in the box to the right and take a look! As for my own family, some surnames would be Fallas, Fallass, Bray, Oechsli, Mills - all of those in the northeastern quadrant of the lower 48 - and, on the Swedish side, Nilsson and Waldemarsson in the province of Skåne län.

AUGUSTANA LUTHERAN CHURCH
Hi Tom!!
I thought I should ask you to add to the info on the Augustana Lutheran Church formerly in White Rock, SD. The RATA moved this Church to the Threshing Bee grounds on the East side of Rosholt, SD a few years ago. The RATA members have done some repairs to the building as well as placing it on a foundation. The members have been keeping the Church is beautiful condition and services are held there at certain times during the year. A Sunday morning service is held there on the Threshing Bee weekend with local Pastors conducting the services. The Church building is open for "lookers" during the Threshing Bee but the sanctuary is roped off and no one is allowed inside. A precaution to keep the interior in excellent condition. The interior is beautiful to see with the original carved wood works restored to original condition.

The markers for William and Lucille are the same. One says husband, the other wife.

Could William have been married to Lucille before or after Bessie?

Either Lucille is not buried at Sunnylane or the death date was never added to the marker.

Let me know what you find.

You requested a photo for the above grave which I am adding. Your note indicated that she should be buried next to her husband and that his marker had already been photoed. Please note that in this cemetery the spouses share the same plot and when the second spouse dies, the marker is replaced with a new marker.
I have no idea what they do with the old ones!

Way family
Sorry, Tom, I don't recognize your sister's name. However, Armand's name pops up from time to time. I seem to remember he's written some letters to the editor of the Topeka Cap-Journal.

I have updated their pages in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka, KS. I realized as I was entering the info that I worked with Myrtle from 1969-1972 at Belvoir Elementary. Topeka is such a small town!
