I find it quite satisfying to celebrate the memory of those we try to document with photos and family history on the findagrave site. I started tracing my family ancestry a few year ago. My family ancestors settled the Carroll County, Georgia area in the 1820s & 1830s. I have found it very interesting to see the paths cross many times as both my maternal and paternal ancestors migrated from Maryland and Virginia to this area. My ancestors consist of Sharp, Spence, Muse, West, Hubbard, Moore, Shadinger, and McLendon families. I have found through my travels to various cemeteries that the departed have a story to share about their past, if we only take the time to observe.|

|Christy McCranie Bare||The Roops|
I was curious if you new if the Roops passed in Escambia County Florida for sure. I looked in the Newspaper here and usually they put a free one in with something like such and such passed and whomever is in charge but I cant find a free obit or the one you pay for. I looked on the Florida death index and I didn't see it. Would you mind looking again and if it is in one of the papers in the surrounding counties I wouldn't mind looking. Just wanted you to know I did try. Sorry I couldn't help you. Christy

Omar and Beulah are my paternal grandparents. I have visited their graves for many, many years; the last time was for Fairview's memorial day on the first sunday in May, 2014.

His wife was Hazel Lester Burke. I could not find an obituary listing for her. She is not listed as interred at Greenwood, and there is a listing for 4 Hazel Burke's in Louisiana on Find A Grave. Of course that only means for memorial was established for her. Did she remarry? Do you have at least a year of death for her?
My 5th great grandmother was Nancy McClendon 1764 - 1979. Her parents were Jacob McClenton Sr. 1715-1793 and Martha Travis McClendon 1730 - 1827. His parents were Thomas McClendon Sr., 1690- 1758 and Elizabeth Bush McClendon 16392- 1731.
