Location of Grandfather's grave
Hello Christina,

My Grandfather Harry A. Hunter, dod 25 Nov. 1943. He is buried in Section/lot no. 24-2297-0. of Brookside Cemetery, Winnipeg. There is no marker for his grave.
When visiting there last May from the US, the office had just closed so no one to ask for help. I am wondering if you could please tell me who is buried next to him. I took pics of where I "believe"he is buried, and graves near. I want to know if I am correct.

Thank you so kindly.

Hi Christine, I submitted a few changes for this family. I'm working on their relationships in Ancestry and am confident of the edits I suggest. Please contact me if you have any concerns. Cindy

Beatrice & John Kinnaird
I wonder if you would transfer Beatrice and John Kinnaird's memorials to me (Findagrave # 122760838 and findagrave # 122760837). John Kinnaird is my grandfather's half brother (both had the same mother, Marion Hamilton Finlay). I also suggested some information to add to the memorials using the edit feature.
Thank you so much!

RE: Kenneth Cassidy in Brookside Cemetery, Winnipeg
Thanks so much for your reply!
I'm sorry to report that Kenneth's date of death is the only thing I know for certain about him. My mother was taken into care at a fairly early age, and I never met him.
I have a fair amount of information on his wife, nee Christina Ballantyne, who emigrated from Greenock, Scotland, but my mother could tell me only that she thought Kenneth had been born in (the now extinct) Dickinson's Landing, ON. I don't know if he had any siblings, I don't know his father's name, and my mother thought HIS mother's name was Hattie or Harriet, but I don't have a maiden name for her.
We were startled to find him buried in the military section of Brookside, because it was my mother's recollection that he had received a bad-conduct discharge. I have requested any military service info from Library and Archives Canada, but they have not yet responded.
Kenneth should also have a criminal record, but I don't know where to look for that...
Thanks again for taking the time to provide this material for Findagrave.

RE: Shipman

Something I read gave me the impression you were a Shipman. Sorry for the error. Bill
