Bio and Links
Bio Photo I reside in Davidson, NC, was born in Buffalo, NY and have lived in Northern, VA, Chicago, Baltimore and Jacksonville, FL. I am very interested in 19th century American history and particularly the periods surrounding the first and second great awakenings. My Aspinwall ancestors migrated from Connecticut to central, NY, and I have used Findagrave resources to track their movements.

Mount Royal Photo Request
Mount Royal Cemetery has 165 acres. The burial plot location must be supplied so a volunteer can go take the photo.

You can get this free information by filling the form here: and in the "Desired Service" field, select "Burial Location (free)" and enter the information.

If the Genealogy page was not helpful then email your request to

The cemetery will email you the location (3-10 working days).

Have the memorial updated with the plot number.

You will have made it possible for the photo to be taken.

Rev. John B. Davies
I just found the record I was looking for giving his birth date as 15 Nov 1772 and death date as 09 Feb 1845. This is from the "History of the presbyterian Church in South Carolina" by George Howe, Vol. II, published 1883.

Thanks for taking another look at this stone.

I noticed you took a picture of the above ground box grave of my 4th great grandfather. Wondering if you took any closeups of the text. I have proofs of him residing in Chester Co., SC through 1820-1840. Am hoping if you can get to the grave again, you can use your fingers to see if that death date in your transcription is incorrect?? Also, same with the birth date. And was wondering if any family members of the DAVIES family are buried near him? Would it be ok if I post your current photo on my public Ancestry tree, givin you full credit, of course?

Thanks so much.
