Julia Castner and Catherine Castner side
Hi again

It looks like there is more writing above their names

Any thoughts?

Thanks so much

RE: Castners in a different cemetery
Yes my email is a good place to send the info.

I also found that the rest of the Castners on the monument have been added to Find A Grave in that cemetery. At first I thought it was a different cemetery.

So I have put in photo requests for John A Castner, Hannah Judkins, Catherine Castner and Julia Ann Castner which means your photos would be appropriate.

Unfortunately, the Castner family, although plentiful in several cemeteries in Jefferson Co, are difficult to figure out.

I am puzzled on the Castners on the Mairs monument.

So progress brings new puzzles right?

ha ha

thanks so much

( I descend from Benj Mair's brother)

Castners in a different cemetery

I found all four Castners in another cemetery without dates. The memorial owner claims no authenticty to his claims, and I have asked him to transfer the memorials or move them.

Your photos are solving a bunch of mysteries.

Still working on figuring how the Castners are related.

Actually.... mairs
This Benjamin Mairs was married to Sarah Castner so that is discernable on the photo above Dr. Mairs.

That also explains the Castner inscriptions on the other surface! I will need to see if they are her parents.

Also, can you add the photos to Sarah's memorial too?

Thanks so much!

Mairs photos
Thanks so much!

Any idea what the name is above Dr. Mairs'?

It looks like it ends with Mairs.

His wife was Rachel so maybe it was her?

thanks again

Thank you so much for the photo! I'm glad you took it before the stone deteriorates more.

Thomas Hunt Shane photo
Thank you kindly for your great effort to locate the marker of Thomas Hunt Shane. This has been invaluable to me. Thomas had a second wife and also has a Findagrave memorial (T. H. Shane #31794468). I was trying to learn if they were the same person, and which was the correct burial location. I am grateful to you for your labors. Thank you.

Samuel Armstrong photo request
I just happened to see your answer that there was a problem with my request for a pic of the grave of Samuel Armstrong. The Samuel Armstrong family is my "brick wall" within my Armstrong family. I would like the other Armstrong grave pix that you were able to take. This grave was my only link to him... and maybe to his family from that generation.

I descend from his only son, Robert Armstrong, who is buried in Jefferson County,OH, in Bloomingdale Cemetery, along with his wife Hannah Beatrice McGrew Armstrong (she comes from the McGrews and Blackburns of Jefferson County originally from PA).

You have my email. Thank you very much for any help you can give me.
