George W. Hoover
Re: George W. Hoover, Find A Grave# 64188484. I call into question if this George W. Hoover is the correct George W. Hoover, s/o Samuel F. Hoover and Priscilla Ann (Ward) Hoover. The Tombstone Birth Year of 1857 is in conflict with the 1850 and 1860 Census Records, which show him being born in 1844. The 1850 and 1860 Census Records are listed as follows:

1850 Census Ohio Co KY District No. 2, #375/375, Enumerated September 3, 1850, p78
Samuel Hoover 32 M KY Farmer
Priscilla A, 25 F KY...(Priscilla Ann (Ward) Hoover)
Elizabeth H. 8 F KY
George 6 M KY
Bazil W. 3 F KY
Jacob F. 5/12 M KY

1860 Census Ohio Co KY Hartford District, #294/292,Enumerated June 18, 1860, p43
Samuel S. Hoover 41 M KY Farmer
Priscilla 27 F KY...(Priscilla Ann (Ward) Hoover)
Elizabeth N. 19 F KY
George W. 16 M KY
Bazel W. 9 M KY
Jacob C. 7 M KY
Eliza 6 F KY

Della Elizabeth Greer Midkiff at Pleasant Hill Magan KY
Della's nickname was "Dellie" not "Lizzie".

Della Greer Midkiff and Heber Midkiff had the following children:

Valva Midkiff
Noble Hoover Midkiff
Lincoln Midkiff
Esther Midkiff Edge McCoy
Markley Midkiff Freer

and they raised James Erbit Greer as their own, when his mother, Carrie Gilaland Greer, died.

To get uptodate info about this family, it would be timely if you would get in touch with Noble Hoover Midkiff who is about 98 years He has a Whitesville, KY address.

James Samuel Lake
This is actually James Sampson Lake. See marriage certificate for him and Mary Elizabeth Moseley. His parents are Abraham Lake 1780-1853 and Eleanor Sullivan 1783-1836. Abraham Lake who married Lucinda Smith is his brother.

Westerfield, Cecil W.
Paul I recently came to Find A Grave to take a look around and saw that my Grandfather has the wrong parents posted on his page.

My Grandfather is Cecil W. Westerfield buried at Olds Bells Run or Barnett's Creek Baptist Cemetery marker number 84089456.

The parents of Cecil W. Westerfield are Henry L. and Elizia Mizella Stewart Westerfield buried at Mt Hermon or No Creek.

Henry L. Westerfield 116950651 Elizia Mizella Westerfield 116950670

I tried to make an edit, however, I believe only the person submitting the initial page can make the edit. I thank you for looking into this and correcting my Papaw Fields parents name on his page. Thanks Lora Westerfield

RE: Jane P Simmons Brown
I wish I had the answer for you but I do not. I have seem in my walking and photographing cemeteries, that when they have been married before and they are buried with a former husband or wife the one left will put a marker on the grave stating they were the spouse of the one left.
