I have been working on find a grave for over 3 years now but decided to create my own account. |
I am a descendant of Peter Lent Mabie & Nicholas McCormick who was a POW of the civil war but was traded for another prisoner & he lived to be 90 years old! & a distant cousin of John Wayne. I am researching both sides of my parents.
I am looking for Reynolds, Van De Warker (Vandewarker, Vandewalker, Vanderwarker, it has been spelled many different ways), Hickman (my biological Great X2 grandfather whom I know nothing about other then his name, George), Stinger, Piercy, McCormick, Norem, Mabie, Murray, Stevens and many others.
The cemeteries I frequent are Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville, Illinois, Warren Cemetery in Gurnee, Illinois, Northshore Garden Of Memories in North Chicago, Illinois & Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville, IL. If you have a photo request for any of these four cemeteries, please let me know. (The photo of me was taken in Northshore Garden Of Memories)
I have been to cemeteries in Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan & a pet cemetery in Wisconsin.

I hit the wrong button. The correct one is there now.
|Rita & Lee Gordon||Duane Fike|
Now in Pine Hills Cemetery.
Hi. Could you explain in more detail why you think her last name was Bruns? I see a 1896 marriage in Floyd Co. like that but this one has a 1900 census and some kid's birth certicates with this man. He's also in the same cemetery. Please send another edit with reason.

That memorial is for my wife and they put the wrong wedding date on the first obit. Could you please change the date to September 10th?

You are very welcome ,but I want you to know that I only did some of the leg work. Debra, the office manager at Fairmount Cemetery is the one that found the document that tells of the error, and went out to pinpointed the marker location. I took the picture and scanned the document and posted it. Are you happy with both picture of marker and information sheet together, or would you prefer it separate?

I see you did a picture of Owney C. Gorbet's stone and that you are interested in Nicholas McCormick and Piercy's.
I'm guessing that your Nicholas is married to Loretta Gorbet? Their daughter Mary Loretta McCormick married George H Piercy Sr.
Owney's father was Alexander Gorbet who is a brother to my gg grandmother Nettie Lucy Gorbet. If this is the family you are related to I would love to hear from you.
Thanks so much for taking and posting the photo.
Pretty sure it is the same Ward- his first wife was Dorothy maiden name Jones. Mother of Barbara and William Morford. He married my Grandma Marjorie sometime in the early 40's and then had 5 more kids. Hope that helps :)

Get rid of what wording? It appears to be on the marker

Boy, did this one freak me out, where the listing says "P/O Arlene L. Russell B., Donna J., Barbara A. & James W."
My mother-in-law is a Donna J, my wife is a Barbara J (very close), and her brother is a James W. Different last name, but still weird
