Retired since Jan 2002, living in Houston, Texas.|
Continuing my Dad's genealogical research on Rogers, Simons, Baird, Slaughter, Couch, Machen, Lowry, Simmons, Sheppard, Chambliess lines.
Some of the pages I manage have a family link, but if you are a closer relative, I will consider a transfer. None of my pages from Forest Park-Westheimer, Littlefield Mem. Park, Oak Grove Mem.Park in Irving, TX or Rose Hill in Tulia are relatives so I will gladly transfer.
You are welcome to use my headstone pictures so long as they are not used for commercial purposes and you attribute/credit to me. PLEASE do not use my personal family pictures on other websites without my permission.
Just found this Official FindaGrave Rule:
How should I enter all married names for a woman's memorial when she was married more than once?
The 'last name' should be the name that is on the headstone. Other married names should be included as part of the biography section. The 'maiden name' should only be her maiden name. Unless the maiden name is hyphenated, no part of the name should contain any punctuation.
If you have a request for a photo and secure the location of the grave, YOUR CHANCES OF IT BEING CLAIMED IS MUCH BETTER. City cemeteries usually have a phone number or a WEBSITE on which you can request this information. IT IS MUCH MORE DIFFICULT FOR SMALL COUNTRY CEMETERIES.
If you want both husband & wife, do two requests so I know who I am looking for; don't make me guess!

Thank you for the transfer of Harwood Taylor's memorial. It really wasn't necessary but I will take good care of him. Robin

Happy to do that for you. The quality of the photo was not great and I apologize for that. That type of marker does not weather very well.
|Bob & Bonnie McEver||Files Valley Cemetery|
This relates to the status of the cemetery in Files Valley, TX. In the 1970s, a board was established to oversee maintenance of the cemetery. All of the board members are now deceased. In order to insure some level of maintenance going forward, a new board should be established. A meeting seems necessary to reestablish the board and the first group to make contact with, before going to the general population of the community, in my opinion, should be those FindAGrave Contributors who have shown an interest and demonstrated some effort to preserve the memory of those interred there. If you have experience in managing small cemeteries and/or the interest to participate in this process, please contact me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Regards and thanks for all your work for FindAGrave.
