I've been working on my family tree for 36 years and findagrave has been a great help.|
Most of my transcriptions were done pencil to paper, before digital cameras. Please let me know if I've made any errors in my transcriptions, I'll be happy to fix them.
Please don't ask me to make changes or corrections based on speculation. Unless I know the family history, I enter what I see on the grave marker, just as it is.
If you find I've made an entry for your family member, please request a transfer. I'll be more than happy to transfer them to you, if they're not my family. PLEASE request transfers through the EDIT tab on the memorial.
Please feel free to use the photos I've added.
Have a great day!
One Final Gift
by: D.H. Cramer
Scatter me not to the restless winds
Nor toss my ashes to the sea.
Remember now those years gone by
When loving gifts I gave to thee.
Remember now the happy times
The family ties are shared.
Don't leave my resting place unmarked
As though you never cared.
Deny me not one final gift
For all who came to see.
A simple lasting proof that says
I loved and you loved me.

|Beth Koskie||RE: Cause of death Lee Herrald?|
Are you attached, by any chance, to Erman Herrald then? If so, may I ask through which child? I've been researching them for an uncle; they were his birth family ... love finding another Minnesotan!

I'm very new to researching this family and finding them fascinating; the connection to coal mining history is very interesting. I've been unable to find a death record on Leonidas, and wondering if you've had any luck on figuring out the cause of his death; the two brothers being killed in later mining accidents, and his being a miner in the area of the first "mining war", plus him being only 35, raises questions about whether it could be mining related as well. Just wondering if you've got any more information that might help figure out where to look next ...

|larvic||James and Polly Gilpin Sparrow|
I've been working on my husband's Sparrow genealogy for 20+ yrs. I think I'm missing somebody inbetween James' father and grandfather or great-grandfather.
Do you know the Father of James Sparrow (1806-1855)?
If it was Thomas Sparrow (1806-1855), do you know who his father was? I've messed something up in my typing of my research. Thanks so much!

It's been a while. Almost 2 years. I miss photographing cemeteries but I had run out of them anyway. Last one was 80 miles from home and I didn't finish it.
Too old now anyway, Clearing off stones was sometimes a lot of work!
Hope things are going well for you. :-)

The info I have so far is William Walker Lindsley (born 5/15/1848, died 3/12/1917)would be her father. Minnesota marriage index (Family search). Siblings would be Burton B born abt 1869 in, Jessie J. born abt 1873 in, Etta Elenore Lindsley Carpenter McDonald (my ggrandmother) born 1/18/1874 died 1/31/1965 and Ray Roscoe born 11/30/1883 in New Hampton,Chickasaw, Iowa. I believe all but Daisy and Ray were born in Minnesota.I did find Ray's chistening papers once connecting him to Rosanne. My main sources have been Family search, Ancestory.com and Find a grave for this info. Maybe providing this will help make solid connections for someone.

I'm sorry Shelly,
Have you contacted anyone at the convent? I spoke with a nun while I was taking photos the other day & she said, well, that was a long time ago. The headstone actually says Plank. I don't know what to tell you. I believe you know what's right, but I'm not sure you want me to add her headstone since it's wrong. Let me know. Maybe the family might want to replace it???? Just an idea. Talk to Prioress Ann. She may be able to help you. I'll be working over there all summer, not every night, but several evenings a week...I hope. Barring the heat. I'll add that headstone if you wish. The other one is on Sr. Relindis's memorial, not your's, the other one.
