Ashbel Cowles Hotchkiss
I have further info on Ashbel and have posted a picture of his grave site in Spring Grove Cemetery in Hartford, CT. Is it possible that there are two grave sites or is the suggestion that Ashbel is in Bristol, CT wrong? I have an obituary of Ashbel if you are interested.

RE: Keith Hunter
Janet, what great memories of Keith, he was definitely a guy with a big heart and he always made me feel special and everytime he come to my home to pick me up for a date he always brought my mom a gift,he was a great guy, my parents loved him and he even worked with my dad at a service station my dad ran until he started college. Me and Keith went to alot of occasions i remember we did go to the T-Bone Club for the senior banquet and yes we were sitting across from some of his friends and had a great time i'm thinking you and Ray are the couple we were sitting across from as well,i just could'nt remember the names and wondered all these years..Yes, me and Keith dated for quite sometime after he graduated from high school...We never lost touch with one another even when he was in college, he would either call or on occasion come by my home he was such a sweetheart

Jojhn and Nancy Stearman
In the 1820 Bedford Virginia census Nancy Stearman is shown as the head of the family. Husband John Stearman is not present which indicates he may have died before the 1820 census was taken. Here is the family group I have determined from the 1820 census; matriarch Nancy Stearman, three sons and three daughters:
1 male 0-10 [Thomas Stearman]
1 male 0-10 [John Stearman]
1 male 10-16 [Robert Stearman)

1 female 0-10 [Jane Stearman]
1 female 0-10 [Martha Stearman]
1 female 10-16 [Eliza Stearman]
1 female 44 - [Nancy Stearman
About 1829 Nancy Stearman's family began their migration into Kentucky. By 21 Jun 1829, Nancy Stearman's family suspended their migration to the Northwest by stopping in Bath County Kentucky to await the birth of Frances Ann Stearman.

Nancy Stearman and her family lived with or next door to the James and Mary McDonald Sorrell homestead at Indian Creek, Bath County Kentucky at least from 21 Jun 1829 to 18 Nov 1830. Nancy's family, less Martha who stayed behind and married John Sorrell, Sr., continued their migration to Ohio probably in the spring of 1831.

Nancy Stearman is shown in the 1840 Coshocton County Ohio census. Living with her is probably daughter Jane Stearman.

Nancy Stearman is shown in the 1850 Bethelehem Township, Coshocton, Ohio census. Her place of birth is Ireland. Living with her is daughter Jane Stearman. This is the last record I have of Nancy Stearman and she probably died in Coshocton County Ohio before 1860 when that census was taken.

Nancy's daughter Jane Stearman is shown in the 1860 Tuscarawas, Coshocton, Ohio census. She is living in the "poor house".
