I'm a dedicated & fanatic family historian & have been on THE QUEST since 1955. I can concentrate on my ancestors but get easily side-tracked by in-laws & the cousins of cousins of cousins, if you know what I mean, & if you love family history as much as I do, then you do know!|
"As we think well of ourselves, let us remember that we are standing on the shoulders of the generations before, for if they had not come, we would not be here."
+ REMEMBERING A US MILITARY VETERAN +
"A US military veteran is someone who, at one point in his/her life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to and including my life.'"
THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
By Thelma Greene Reagan
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where others cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

|Linda Kasyan||Snyder twins|
sorry if I wasn't clear.
Robert and George were both born to the same parents on the same day and show up in follow up census in the same household and the same age.,, which I think makes them twins.
I am sort of working on untangling Snyders this weekend,
you listed children with approx birth and death... I was trying to get Robert with a definite birth and death date and then cross mu fingers that someone going thru Mt Olivet records finds him.
|Gail Fisher Walker||Oscar Pomeroy #139915695|
According to an email that you Find A Grave sent to me on 8.4.16, your suggestion stated:
His Death Certificate has him as the son of Robert Pomeroy and Maggie (Pherson) Pomeroy and as the husband of Maggie (McPherson) Pomeroy.
Would you be so kind as to check the listing of Mr Pomeroy's mother? I am not currently a member of ancestry.com. I can see the death certificate, but I cannot zoom to check her name.
Our records show his mother was Louella (maiden name unknown by us). Death Certificate shows mother and wife with exact same name?
I will wait until you respond before I post your suggestion. Thanks, Mr Gardner!

Thanks for creating the memorial for my sister. I would like to ask if you can delete it so that only one memorial is in place so that additional links are not confusing.
