Interested in Family History/Genealogy. Enjoy the project of putting on data & photos. Will share photos but would appreciate a notice.
I will admit to making errors in the beginning with the Find-a-grave guidelines, but hope I have corrected them.

minor annoyances
Number collectors. Is there a contest to see who can get the most names on.

Incomplete data ie putting names on with minimal data & coming back several months later to put more data on.

Duplicates - & seeming unwillingness to remove them.

Not checking before putting on Names resulting in Duplicates & Dupes.

Dupes- predating ( back-dating whatever it is called ) & them claiming mine is a dupe.

Any pictures put on the sites with my public
name on them were taken by me. The only exceptions are the ones from other sites with their permission & about a 100 for the Durham Cemetery. The memory stick was given to me by Kim,.

RE: Temperance Vollett
Apologies for the delay in responding to your query. Yes, I am related to Temperance. She is my 5xgg. I am descended from her son Charles sr and his son Charles jr. I'm not sure which generation your James is from who emigrated to Canada. But either way I'm descended from his brother who stayed in England. I am by he way located in Australia. Charles Jr died quite young and his widow Sarah and daughter Elizabeth emigrated to Stawell in Victoria, Australia during the gold rush. Sarah must have been quite a woman. She invested in gold mining companies (unsuccessfully) and had at least one property over which she held mining rights and built a house. All this from earning a living as a dressmaker.
Regards, Therese

david gillies
Double checking mother of David as Margaret Robb Gillies (1819-1908). She would have been 57 when he was born. Is this correct? And her husband is 16 years younger than she is - David's father.

Thank you.

RE: Dyce Family
Sorry, but I cannot see which Dyce are linked. Can you let me know who they are, please?

RE: Alex Aitken
HOW FUN!!

You can see it well enough to get a "glimpse" of the family. Actually it turned our pretty well considering the origin of the photo.

Thank you!

Best wishes,
High Plains :)

RE: re Duplicate cemeteries
Hi this is where I got my info to merge 2 cemeteries, What if I notice that there are duplicate listings for the same cemetery in the same county and I know that there is only one?
Please use the cemetery fix/update forum to submit cemetery updates or non-members use cemetery@findagrave.com. We will merge the cemetery records into one listing. It is particularly helpful if you have an address for the cemetery (we can add that to the cemetery's record, too).
If there is anything else I can help you with, please e-mail me at janetgc@sasktel.net
Have a great day
Janet
PS It takes time for them to merge the cemeteries it seems like.

RE: Currie Woodland Cemetery Southgate
Two of my Currie's have only death dates, that is all it says in the family Bible. The rest have all the dates. In regards to the other family they married into the Currie family. A long time ago there were 2 Woodland Cemeteries, and I had Find A Grave merge them together, they kept my memorials up, and the others were suppose to be removed by who ever put them up, has not all been done yet.
Kim has been very kind and removed her memorials, in regards who the other Currie's are, etc I do not know who the memorials belong to. I hope this answers some questions for you.
Have a good day.

Wow, grandma took me to the cemetery today (4x4 truck) and it hurt just to find it. Saw you had tried to access it for photo requests so thought I'd leave you a note as well. Due to all the parties and vandalism there are maybe a dozen stones left and maybe a handful without any damage. My mom was telling me about a row of children killed by scarlet fever there and they were completely gone as well
