Born in Springfield, MA in 1952, I had been in the retail business for 35 years managing at all levels, consulting and training in both sales and service. I have three children, 2 sons and a daughter ages 30, 33 and 36. My first grandchild was born December 1, 2010! Another generation to follow! |
On September 22, 2007, I married my second wife, Karen J (Thurber) Murphy. Karen is the widow of Wayne E Murphy (1952-2001/Memorial #37248763) and has 2 children, a son age 26 and a daughter age 23.
Contact me anytime with corrections, links, transfers (according to policy) or adding information. I will respond as quickly as is reasonable.
I offer family research services as well as classes in introductory through advanced genealogical research. You can visit my website at www.oldbones.info. I also write a blog which you can access, follow and comment on at www.oldbonessearch.blogspot.com.
A quick note: To add an internal link in the biography, you would need to type
< a href="http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=XXXXXXX">Name< /a>
(I put this here because I use it frequently and am tired of digging for it in the FAQ.)

Dave I will transfer a relative to anyone who asks if that person is not related to my children. Usually I like to research and develop the memorial before I transfer only so that the information is there as so many people never change a thing afterward. As a genealogist I think it is a shame not to utilize the wonderful tools we are given here and exposure is immense, through methodical research we can "correct" long standing published inaccuracies to some degree. Thanks for all your hard work. Jim

Hi Dave! Sorry for the delay.. I've been away from the internet for a few days and I'm catching up now! Got the updates and changed the name!! No worries.. I do it all the time! If you are related to this family and would like to maintain themů let me know.. I'd be glad to transfer them. Jarry is a family name in our tree from the MA area.. so when we were hunting for family there I tried to photograph all the family names I could find - just in case they fit our tree! So far these are not matching up with any in our family. Thanks and take care! Dana
No relation here, just an enthusiastic findagraver.
I have access, via genealogybank, to old newspapers, so I read obits.

Thanks for the reply and info. Glad to see it. I'm trying to find the burial location of Rhoda's mother, Ann Loomis (1710-1781), wife of John Root. Ann was the daughter of William Loomis #12459529 and Martha Morley #124595289.

Your welcome. Are you the same Dave who spoke to the SAR at the Ludlow, MA white church and helped me on my family tree at my home in Ludlow, MA ?

I'm sorry it me literally YEARS to respond! Are you still active? I would love to speak with you!
|James Gunn||RE: Captain John Gunn|
Thank you, Dave. Captain John Gunn is my 5th great grand uncle. His father, John, was my 6th great grandfather. My 7th great grandfather, Thomas, was probably a passenger on the Mary and John and arrived in Dorchester in May 1630. It's quite possible we are distant cousins. Just about everyone who has ancestors who arrived back that far are related at some point in the 10 generations since then.
I am not related to Boies family, so no transfers. Thanks for offering.
