I live in Stanislaus County and willing to help in this county. Permission is given to use any of my pictures. I strive to take the best pictures possible. I may have to computer enhance pictures of older and hard to read markers but will post pictures before enhancement so the viewer can see the original condition.
RE: Ed Smith Thank you. I will contact him. I just interviewed a lady that bought his home after he left Bakersfield. She knew him and visited him in Pescadero and Santa Cruz in his later years. She is 94 years young. Gave me some photos of him. I visited Hornitos this year because of this connection. I am researching here and a lot is connecting. Two books about Hornitos give a link to early arrivals here to Kern County. I admire Frank Latta. He saved a lot of history for Kern County and the San Joaquin Valley. Appreciate your work. Lynda
Latta Family Thank you so very much for photographing the Latta and Murieta graves. Also the extra effort on Harmonia Latta which I had not requested. She is Frank Latta's mother and I had overlooked the fact she was buried near Frank. I am not sure if you know who he is but you can Google Frank Forrest Latta and find information on Wikipedia. I live in Bakersfield and I am researching his life. He was the first curator/director of the Pioneer Village and Museum here in Bakersfield. Jose Jesus Murieta known as "Tex" was the grandson of Joaquin Murieta the bandit in the 1850's. The book "Joaquin Murietta And His Horse Gangs" was written by Frank Latta, among other historic books he wrote. Again than you, the photos were wonderful. Lynda
Larson & extended family photos Thank you so much for the perfect headstone photos of my extended family. The extra information is much appreciated as well as all the other photos you have taken. Thank you for your service.
