Born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Lived most of my life there. Then relocated, first to Decatur, IL and then to Hillsboro, IL. |
Have been involved in genealogy for many years. I guess I was following in my grandfather's footsteps. Now that I am retired it has become my passion.

|Rachel Lewellen||Getting back into genealogy|
I just left a note to see if you were still active.
Then I found this when it popped up.
So If I saw this correctly,---You also was born in Dallas??? then move on to other places in this country....as That is what happened to me in life. I was raised in Dallas, Married and moved to Richmond Ca(San Francisco Bay Area) until at age 69 moved to Fallon NV (60 miles east of Reno, NV)
I would like to send you an invite to see my history and perhaps see you a bit better as I know little about you except your Grandmother was Kitty McKnight....

|SarahATX||duplicate memorial Sarah Palmer|
Hi, Sarah Kitty Ogden Palmer is interred at the Texas State Cemetery and is memorialized on 104005068. The memorial set up at Austin State Hospital should be deleted as a duplicate.
The cemetery names are very similar, but online records confirm the State Cemetery is the correct location. The State cemetery was used for residents of the confederate home. Thanks for your efforts.

|Laurie Kearney||Charles Paris Armfield # 42111535|
I have been researching this family on and off for a while now. Much of my initial information came from my mother-in-law and my grandmother-in-law. In the early 1950's they were living in Oregon, when they met an Armfield family at a Job's Daughters ceremony. (My aunt-in law Dana Lou Bateman (1936-1986) and Gail Edith Armfield (1936-2013) were being inducted into this organization.) The families got chatting and discovered Gail's granddad Elmer was brother to Dana's great-granddad, Charles Paris. My mother in law (who was about 10 at the time) remembers they were informed they had "just missed him"...which led her to believe (later in life) Charles had recently died....and I have always had "died abt 1953 in OR" on my family file....which has gone viral.....and now that information is everywhere!.....on other family files, on findagrave, and even in the Armfield family newsletter.
Seeing as Elmer died in 1949....i believe that is who they "just missed"
Charles is enumerated in the 1920 census in MT....and that is the last time he appears in records (OK ancestry has in in local phonebooks up to about 1923)....so it is more safe to say he died between 1923 and 1930 in MT
And the "Red" nickname was apparently because he had red hair (this information also came from this 1953ish meeting)
Thanks! I'm just hopping to correct my error!

Once you have the location, please add it to your request. Thanks.
|Dolores J. Rush||Whitehead Family|
The Whiteheads attended the Union Predestinarian Baptist Church in Flat Branch Twp., Shelby Co, ILLinois. There are minutes to this church and a membership list. They left Illinois c. 1855. Elder Robert Webb, the Primitive Baptist Church Archivist and Family History Research Assistance website in Carthage, IL. sent me information on the Tolly's and the Whiteheads who married into the White family. Thot you might like to know.
