My father was born and raised in Rockingham County, Virginia -- as were many generations of his ancestors. My passion to discover his roots has led to digging deeply into old dusty records to bring my ancestors to life and put flesh on their bones. . . . to know more than just names and dates, but to know them and their challenges. I have authored three books of stories, photos and genealogy of my father's family. My family names include Hensley, Maiden, Meadows, Gardner, Smith, Baugher, Eppard, Moyer, Berry, Broyles, Yager, Clore, Cave, Sampson, Keyser and Wyant.|

|Rebel Angel||Dovel Cemetery|
Hi Jan, I have a ancestor who is buried in Dovel Cemetery according to his death certificate. I couldn't find the cemetery on find a grave so I created a page for it but now I'm finding out that Dovel was renamed as Dofflemyer Cemetery. Is there a way to redirect users to Dofflemyer from Dovel or set Dovel as a alias for Dofflemyer?

Thanks Jan. Have seen so much of your work and you do a wonderful job. Thank you for all the work you have done. Phyllis

I was just looking for Claude Richard Taylor husband of Zettie Lee Shifflett Taylor and found Charles R Taylor and the name on the headstone reads Claude R Taylor so was wondering if you could maybe correct this and put Claude instead of Charles? I do have his DC and it reads Claude Richard.
Thank you. Phyllis Goebel Tuning.
Is the document shown on James Maiden from the Revolutionary period or is it a later document?

Thanks for the very nice photos of the stones for Major an Virginia Roudabush. I appreciate your time.
I was wondering if you had more information or photos on Adam Clark Bear? Thank you so much!
I have added an updated photo of the marker for this memorial showing date of death for her husband. I thought you might like to delete your photo which was posted prior to his death. Thanks.

Frankey married first Bird Snow; they had a child, Mary B.1862; he was shot as a deserter during the Civil War. Next in 1867 she married William 'Smith' Shifflett and had several children: Gincy 1867, Bryant 1871, Sarah Jane 1875, and William 1881. At some point @1900 she left her husband (no proof of divorce) and appeared on the census as Frances Knight, living near her original family. Linda Shiflett Fletcher Fletchls447@comcast.net

Thank you, I had been on here years ago, and was really getting into doing the family tree but work had to come first, now I am almost close to retirement so I am trying to get back into this again. While I have forgotten a lot of proper protocol on this site, I hope to get better at doing the right way of asking etc. My sister has really taken off with this and has been a great help to me in doing some of the leg work. At any rate, I think I did finally get Jennings linked to his parents, I am not sure but I believe that most of his line has passed on.
Thank you and have a pleasant day,
