I started searching for Maiden names of Women in the Family. Years of off and on research made some exciting finds.|
Names lost of Grandparents Mothers etc on the male side and also on the female side. Names never to be known unless uncovered.
Thanks to the new Family I have found and their sharing of the wonderful Price history of our relatives. Thanks to the Journey To Cape Fear By Michael Price (A wonderful work),if not for EEPrice,I would not have the book..so a special thanks to you.
South Carolina Price Family,
The Price-Collins Family, I say a big thanks to all the help.
A special thanks for the help of the Bethel Baptist Church,a cousin there, in MS that led me to a path of My GG grandFather.
One year ago (2012) I knew nothing of my Paternal side of the lost Family.

|L. Finley||Alexander J. McKethen (Old City Cemetery)|
I received your edit request to link Alexander to his wife, memorial #107575849. I just wanted to give a little more detail then is allowed in the "edit" screen as to why I am declining this edit at this time. It is likely that this memorial for "Maria F. McKethen" IS his wife, however, she is referred to as "Francis M. Slade" in the marriage notice I transcribed and posted to Alexander's memorial. The memorial for Maria lists birth as 1787 (although the posting contributor states the stone is very hard to read). As Alexander's death notice states he died 6 month's after his wedding (married April 7, 1819) "in the 23rd year of his age", he would have been born in 1796. It is highly unlikely that he would have married a woman 9 years older than himself. I have contacted the contributor of Maria's memorial and asked them to further document that birth year, so that we can confirm we have the correct person to link as Alexander's wife. When it is documented that this memorial is for Francis M. Slade McKethen, I will be happy to accept a link.

Saw you link on Fannie Bridges Hair. She was my great, great grandmother. Her daughter Charlice was my dad"s mother. In fact my sisters and I just went to visit her and our great, great grandfather"s ( Bascom Bitterman Hair) graves a few days ago.

You are welcome. Glad I could get this for you!
|J R Hinton||Hinton's|
Charlotte...I have been researching the Hinton's for 35 years now and have my line documented to the year 1000. I have never seen the spelling "Henton" as a deviation of Hinton. The original name was De Hynton, then Hynton, and later Hinton.I would be most interested if you know of any Henton that descends from the Sir Thomas Hinton line of England. Thanks, Joel

So far I have not found any of my McPherson's in Alabama. They came from Bladen, North Carolina to Sumpter Georgia, to Sumpter, Florida.

Did I get it right? I'll notify Find A Grave and have them designate it as a cenotaph since he is actually buried elsewhere. You might want to contact Robert and get him to change the name on the other memorial?

You are very welcome, Charlotte.

I believe that the mother for Robert is Ruth Tippins Ulmer Seckinger (info from memorial of Robert's brother James). I assume she was buried under the Seckinger name with her second husband Benjamin J Seckinger probably in Georgia or Florida, but I have not found a memorial for her.
Thanks for doing the edit.
