Helen Watley Bowie
Dear Erin,
The woman mentioned in the subject line is my grandmother. She is buried at Millard Hill Baptist Church, but because they kept poor records and refuse to accept the truth, there is now a stick in the ground where they claim that my grandmother is buried. I have pictures of her grave, but the church members refused to acknowledge them. When I filed a complaint with the cemetery board, along with my proof of her location, they countered with attacks on my character, as well as insults to my family. I now see that someone has placed a stick with 'H.W. Bowie' written in permanent marker at some random area there. She did have a tombstone, but one of the deacons knocked it out of its concrete setting and threw it against the fence. I was trying to forget the pain that they caused me, but this stick just opened that wound again. Thank you, Jeffery Carr, for being such a jerk.

Thank you!
Erin,

Thank you so much! I appreciate your good work! Genealogy research is impossible without the help of others and I greatly appreciate what you are doing!

Try to stay dry - this bad weather is down here too in Houston. I hear a cool front is coming soon though!

C. and M. Davis, Canaan Cem.
Erin,
Do you have a list of names for the Canaan Cem. Lorkhart, Union Parish? I am thinking C. Davis 124493510 may have been Callie ( California) A. Compton Davis and her husband M.E. Davis said to have married in 1902.
Thanks for all the good work you have done on F.A.G.!

If it turns out that you are unable to locate the grave for this child, can you please repost the photo you have posted on John Saunders Farrar's memorial-group memorial stone, which would be related to Martha I am sure. The second photo-straight on photo, is a very fine photo and I think would be suitable, as opposed to no photo. Thank you.
