Bio and Links
Bio Photo I started tracing my family roots back in the late 1970's by helping my mother by visiting libraries and traveling to Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. Which is where many of my ancestors came from before settling in Iowa. I grew up in Iowa but my work took me to Kansas. Now I have returned to Iowa, the place I've always called home. Was lucky to have both parents interested in genealogy.

If I post a photo you would like removed - let me know and I will remove it. I realize there is a 5 photo limit. I would also encourage the sponsoring a memorial page as this is a wonderful site worthy of support.

I am also more than happy to transfer memorials if they are not in my tree.

Thank you for posting her obituary on her memorial. she is my son-in-law's 2nd great grandmother and I was never able to get their exact marriage date. I think it's wonderful when people put the obituaries on too. I haven't but
one of these days. I'm 80+ and not as sharp as I used to be. Sincerely.

RE: Ambrose White
HAVE YOU HAD ANY LUCK IN FINDING Edward Joseph or grave site.He died on Aug 20.1891 in Harlem Mo. a TRAIN MURDER. It stated in Villisca's Red Oak paper his parent picked his body up at ST. JOESPH MO. They said his name was Joseph, But went by Eddy. I would very much like to know where he is buried. Dave Mc Farland said from Villisa there are a couple of old burial sites from 1891, but they are not kept up or the information on the burial sites. On a marriage license a Ambrose White signed the paper's and a Emma Thompson. Relatives? My gr grandparent's marriage papers Emelia and Joseph Edward White. I hope he is in Villisca Iowa. But WHERE. I HOPE YOU HAVE BETTER LUCK. He WAS SUPOSE TO BE 24.Married in April 21..Died in Aug 20 1891. thanks!

RE: Ambrose White
I don't know how much I can say 'THANK YOU'. Since I was a child, it was all hush-hush and we were told to leave the room. I don't know if my father or his two sisters knew the story. I found out how he was murdered checking St. Joseph's Mo, archives at 3am in the morning, 3 years ago. Talk about a shock. Problem was it states his name on a church registry as Joseph. My dad's name is Joseph. But recently at St. Joseph, Mo. they said it was G E White. Changing names, misspelling I am finding was quite common then. His wife's name was Emelia, she was 5 months pregnant with their first child, my grandfather Joseph. She stayed at St. Joseph, Mo till my grandfather was 7-8 years old and remarried at least twice and is buried in St.Louis Mo. If this is my gr. grandfather, he died Aug 20,1891. Murdered in Harlem, Mo.He was a railroad worker. Age said 24, then also I read older...But I have the 3 newspaper's from Villisca, St. Joe's and Kansas City Mo. All stating similar statements. After all this time..No-one knew where he was buried. If you find more...about him, his parents, siblings. I'd would love to find out more. Thank You!
