Our lives have become enriched with the contacts we've made on FindaGrave, opening so many doors, even getting to meet some folks in person from other states. Through others, I've been able to find my Grandfather (unmarked for 45 yrs.) & provide him with a nice headstone with photos, and find my Dad in a National Cemetery after 6 yrs. (He was left unknown & unclaimed 4.5 mos. then false burial info given to me). We have family DNA now to help discover and validate our heritage. May all our loved ones rest in peace and have greener pastures, and lest us NOT forget. Being French Lick H.S. sweethearts 50+ yrs. ago and having lived in SW Florida 36 years, we've become very active with 7 grandchildren and 1 great. Also try to unite distant relatives a little closer before we all end up as a memorial page. We pay it forward with our own photos and memories to our Springs Valley, Orange-Dubois-Martin County areas, as well as the Vincennes Military Museum, hopefully leaving a cherished legacy.If I have created a memorial you wish, please request the transfer from the EDIT tab with YOUR Name and Number. Your relationship is helpful as I'm always interested in expanding our family histories. IF YOU COPY AND USE MY POSTED PHOTOS - I respectfully request that you GIVE the related HECKLER-BAKER FAMILY #47559633 the CREDIT as DONORS. So many of us have come together to graciously contribute these family heirlooms.BTW, if you're a little overboard or fanatical, please bother someone else that cares. Life is TOO short for such things!Leaving one footstep at a time ... Chiquita (Heckler) & Larry (Bobby) Baker|

Just curious about note you left on his memorial. It said from Ilene and Gene's families--are these families of his daughter Ilene? My dad was her 6th cousin, through their Loy ancestry.
|Prairie Mary||Potter's Chapel?|
Have you ever heard of Potter's Field being called Potter's Chapel? I am trying to figure out burial place of little Opie Gullett (1904-1905) who was the daughter of Charles Gullett and Annie Walls. The writing on the death certificate is hard to make out. It's definitely something "Chapel". It might start with a "B", "P", or "R", and it appears to end with "ers". If you email me, I can send you a digital copy.

Hi there, I read the historical write up you wrote for Potters Field in Paoli, IN. I have a question for you. I have a death certificate for someone in my familytree that states she was in the County Asylum when she died and was buried in the "County Cemetery". Do you think this is enough information to add her to Find A Grave at this cemetery?
Just needing some feedback on this, it sounded like you had knowledge of the asylum & cemetery.
Your thoughts will be appreciated.
|Leslie Galliher Gawne||Wells DNA|
Hello from Maryland! Writing to ask if your husband ever did the DNA test over at ancestry.com? Because I did, and I was surprised to discover a boat load of Slimp/Slemp DNA and no connections to any Wells, anywhere. I am a descendent of Jennie Lin Wells, so that shouldn't be possible, unless Absolom Wells, her father, was actually a Slimp, not a Wells (or his mother was a Slimp?). I have many connections to Hackneys and McClains though, so that part checks out okay.
If you know any good family gossip to explaim where the Slimp DNA may have enterned our branch of the Baker family, let me know!
|B Pipher||Silas M. Pipher # 124800743|
I am researching my Pipher family and saw an Indiana Death Certificate for Silas M. Pipher who was buried in Potter's Field Cemetery, Paoli, IN.
Some of the names are not clear, but I am wondering if he was a son of Hiram M. Pipher and Rachel McCauley Pipher. Name I have for one of their sons is Marshall with a birth date of same year. Do you have any further information on Silas M. Pipher? Thank you.

Thank you so much for getting back to me. I look forward to hearing from Mary.

I'm sorry to bother you, but I'm searching for where my great-grandmother, Diana Mickler is buried or any other information I can find on her, and I was hoping that you might be able to help. My belief is that we share common ancestors, Martin and Lucy Roberts Mickler, but I am trying to verify that. Diana Mickler married Thomas Polson in Dubois County Indiana on 7 Nov 1875. In his 1929 obituary, it mentions his deceased wife, Diana, daughter of Martin Mickler and that she died on 2 Feb 1888. In the 1870 census, Martin and Lucy are listed with children, Martin, George, Judy, Diana, Caroline, Mary, and Carnelia. (Some names are hard to read.) If you have any more information on Diana, I would greatly appreciate if you could pass it on. Again, sorry to bother you with this. I'm at a dead end and hoping for help. Thanks for your time.

I have linked the boy's memorial to his father so people can find it easier. Glad I could help in some way.
