RE: Mary Higgins, 79690856

This would be Alexander and Jennie's marriage record. I am not at all certain his middle initial is F. even though the record says it is. There are mistakes in many primary source documents. It appears they were very negligent in recording the births of their children.

I did find John Alexander Young born in 1890 in New Brunswick and died in 1960, New Gloucester.

RE: Mary I. Young Higgins
I spent some time looking for her parents with no luck. I am not sure of her father's given name. I found him in the 1930 census as Elie. I did find Jennie E. Young in the Bangor State Mental Hospital in 1920 and 1940 at the time of the census.

RE: Mary I. Young Higgins
I know now that your family with Eli was near the coast early on in the Bar Harbor area. Mine was in Buckfield and even though Jennie E and John L. were in every census I couldn't find them and finally got them searching for the children. Both families ended up in the Auburn/Lewiston area.

These people who settled early in remote Maine usually migrated with several other families and then they intermarried. This is why so many cousin marriages. In order to be sure Alex and Eli and and also the Higgins family, you would have to flesh out entire families for a few generations.

Thanks again for catching my error.

RE: Mary I. Young Higgins
Please accept my apology. You are correct. How I mixed them up is they had children with the same names and birth years, James F., Mary I. and I think one other.

Glad you caught this. I am a Silver researcher and these people are through a female Silver line. A number of these kids were born deaf. That is the only reason I have been working on them at all.

THanks again for catching my errors.

Perhaps you are correct. Just looking at the 1930 census indicates you are. Let me study this a bit more and I'll get back to you.
