Bio Photo Well I have been digging around Graveyards for years. So seems like a second home to me. haha My nephews who are 15 & 8 enjoys it now too so its a good way for them to learn about their own family history and the history of others. Every graveyard has a life so to speak of it own. Its own personal story about the loved ones buried there.

Browning Hill Cemetery
Hello, I was wondering if you could tell me where this cemetery is located in Franklin County. I have been to the area on the map and can not find it. Your help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Faith

Abram Thomas
I'm interested in your connection to Abram Thomas. His wife, Nancy Jane Rogers, was a sister to my second great grandmother.

RE: Hutson Browning Hill

I never actually saw the stone for Annis Hutson before you found the pieces and arranged them back together for your photos. When I found the stone for Chamberlain lying on the ground, as I recall it was in the southwest corner section of the cemetery, if my sense of direction was correct. It was a few paces from both the south and west treelines. It was lying diagonal, top to bottom being southeast to northwest, with the writing facing west if it were to have been set back upright based on it's position at that time.

I hope that helps. That's the best I can remember. Unfortunatly, I never saw the stones before they fell over or broke apart, so I have no clue as to their original locations or positions. This is another one of those times when I have to wish for a time machine, so I could go back and see the cemetery as it originally was.

Thank you again for all of your hard work in cleaning it up! When I was out there it was very far gone. It's amazing what you've done for the place.

RE: Hutson Browning Hill

Unfortunately, no. I don't know of any photographs of my 4th Great-Grandparents Chamberlain and Annis Hutson. And, the only child of theirs that I know for certain is my 3rd Great-Grandfather Moses Hutson, who is linked to their memorials.

A Houseworth
I just stumbled onto the picture you have posted for "A" Houseworth, and I also see in that same tiny cemetery there is an entry for Isaac Houseworth. The picture you have posted surely looks like it could be "IsaAc".??? I am a direct descendant of Isaac Houseweart (also spelled Houseworth). The date on the stone for his death is consistent with information I have on him, but I have NO information on his death.....My Isaac and wife Jemima lived in Hancock Co., IL and she is buried there. However the only thing I have on Isaac after 1855 or so is that he was in Clark Co. MO in the 1860 census....but without any family members listed with him. ????
Since your name is Houseworth I'm hoping perhaps you might know something about this guy and if it is possible that he is "my" guy! ???
Looking forward to ANY info. you might have.
Thanks, Mary YSK
PS Jemima's tombstone is on Find A Grave in Durham cem., in Hancock co., IL
