Bio and Links
Bio Photo Happily unattached, traveling nurse anesthetist with a passion for genealogy, outdoors, and photography. I enjoy recording and sharing cemeteries I find in my travels with people on FAG. I am not related to most of my memorials; please let me know if I can transfer a relative of yours to you. I enjoy doing photo requests and try to take a few extra pictures while I am there. I try to prepare the stone for a nice picture but don't always have my tools with me (the airlines frown on gardening tools in luggage!) to trim grass, wash bird droppings, etc. Please let me know if I've made some typos and I will correct ASAP. Also, please let me know if you get a better photo and I will delete mine. I'll be always grateful to one of my high school English teachers, Marjory Sharp, Find A Grave Memorial# 117584719, for assigning a four generation pedigree chart and to my great grandmother, Eva Alta Jackson Yeokum, Find A Grave Memorial #20165966, who lived next door and helped me fill it out the night before it was due!

If you cannot get rid of the family skeleton, make it dance! ---George Bernard Shaw

January 2012 - I am working to "link" my memorials. Links weren't around when I started here, so I'm having to do some serious backtracking! Thanks to everyone that sends additional information for the memorials--I get 10-20 emails a week--please be patient as I work on getting all this added, too.

Jean Louis Vijgen
Eward B. Collins
My name is Jean Louis Vijgen, from Holland.
I'm a Find a Grave(r) to.
All the grave you are attended is a Pilot and Crew members from
869th Bomber Squadron, 497th Bomber Group, Very Heavy.
I have researched one of his crew members MSgt Leo C. Blough.
By the way, I found all of the Crew members on Find a Grave.

RE: James Gates
Thanks Kathy. Attempting to be concise:

James Austin Gates Jr.
b. 19 Oct 1922 Salem, Essex, MA, to Mabel Inez (Gilliland) & James Austin Gates Sr. of Danvers, Essex, MA.
d. 17 Jul 1990, per SSDI (the only James A. Gates, 1922-1990, only other James is a James C. Gates).
mil. 1942-46 USAAC.
m. 1943 Deer Lodge, Powell, MT to Martha Jane Foster, b. 1920 same, res. 1930 Tacoma WA, d. 2013 Deer Lodge, bur. same.
res. to 1946 Danvers.
res. 1952-53 Portland, Cumberland, ME.
res. 1957-58 Middleton, Essex, MA.
Dad James d. 1958 Danvers, Essex, MA.
res. 1963 Wilton Fairfield CT.
No record to 1990.
Mom Mabel d. 1987 Beverly, Essex, MA.
d. 1990 where?
Wife Martha d. 2013 Deer Lodge MT.

His cousin, my uncle, met his daughter at the last of the local funerals (his mom's, or his?).

Did I see MO-born James A. Gateses, Sr. & Jr., in the US Census records for MO? Any other ideas, even on how to rule this one out, would be welcome.

Thanks again!

RE: Eleanor Herms
Kathy, I thought I replied to your message. Yes, I would love to help by taking responsibility for Eleanor and more of her family to honor my Texas hometown friends, the W. P. Herms, Jr., family. Eleanor was Mr. Herms' great grandmother.

RE: Wilhemina Cuspert, Hopeton Plantation Cemetery
She is "Willie" on SSDIndex, died in Savannah, GA.
But let me do some more research, and I will get back to you.
The usual spelling is WilheLmina. e.g. queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands (1898-1948). Female form of German Wilhelm (William).
Have a nice day.
