I have a great interest in Genealogy.I am researching Edwards,Altons,Jones,Roach,Hudson and Nuckowski's. |
I have a interest in military stones and the stories behind the special soldiers.Home town hero's are all to plenty.
As a youngster I was hired to work on overgrown cemeteries and found an interest at these sites.
I am finding researching my own Family name is a hard task so far,but its getting there.I just keep plugging away and everyday there is a new discovery.
Taking pictures of the head stones is a stroll thru time from the dates and wondering whom these people were.
Now,this is interesting to give each person some depth of whom they were other than a name on some stone.

Durham Cemetery. Would ask you to place your flower on the site for Lieut William Milton Mills. The other was a duplicate & incorrect. Thanks also for your respect for the military

Bruce, thanks for taking the time, I greatly appreciate it.
|Scott McPherson||RE: Malcolm Morrison|
Malcolm Morrison Sr died between 1861 and 1871 census records so the 1863 would be him. In 1871 census record his wife (widowed) had 4 children, Ann, John, Christina and the youngest named Malcolm born about 1861, so second Malcolm you refer to is his son. His wife Mary died 13 Sep 1897 in Sydenham. Her maiden name I believe was Campbell, but the Ontario death record is too early to record parent names. I am waiting for the Wellington District Marriage Register (1840-1870) to see if her marriage to Malcolm is recorded in it. What I am trying to accomplish is connect Malcolm to his parents and then to whom I believe is his sister living with him in the 1851 census.
As to Peter, the OCFA shows "Morrison, Peter (s/o Malcolm & Mary)" buried in Greenwood. I make the assumption that this Peter is connected, as I believe that Malcolm's father's name was Peter Morrison. But if he was 1889, he is not the son of Malcolm Sr, but may be related in any event.
Anyway, any help is greatly appreciated.
|Scott McPherson||Malcolm Morrison|
I am looking for Malcolm Morrison who OCFA shows is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, also his wife Mary and their son Peter. I have looked at the photos available online for Greenwood and there is no Malcolm/Mary/Peter, nor any listing for them. Malcolm would have been born about 1820 +/- 5 years and from OCFA he died about 1896 (but I am unable to find a corresponding Ontario death record). I have a Malcolm with wife Mary and son Peter living with one of my cousins in the 1852 census. I am trying to connect this dot, as there must be some relation to Malcolm Morrison and Neil Morrison my distant cousin. As you have helped in on the Flora Currie photo request, I thought I would send you this message to see if you can help locate any headstones if they exist.
I appreciate any help or suggestions you can provide.
Photo's are posted. Thank you so much!
Alonzo & Mary (Nelson) Smith, Thank you ( I think) for the headstone photos, don't understand it but though it's evident there should be photo's there - they're not showing, don't know what's up with that.
