I have been photographing headstones for a short time now. I felt inspired to do so after completing some of my family genealogy and coming across this website. I am so grateful for the opportunity to help others by photographing their loved ones headstone. I love the families I meet and stories I hear along the way!|
If you come across any family members of yours in which I have created a memorial, I would be happy to transfer them to you as long as it is WITHIN F-A-G guidelines. Please state your relation to the individual you are asking to have transferred.
If you see any corrections that need to be made on memorials that I have posted, please let me know so that I can fix them. I get the majority of my information directly from the cemeteries and try to verify it with other sources.
If you are looking for someone who may be buried at Greenlawn or Greenlawn Southwest in Bakersfield, please feel free to send me a message. I may be able to help you locate them.
Please feel free to use the photographs I have taken and posted as you wish, no permission is needed.

|Mark Utley||RE: Nancy Schallock|
Thanks so much! So glad we now know where Nancy is at rest.
All my best,
|Renee Hogue||Gladys Vernon Nickell|
A photo volunteer filled my photo request however she told me the plot for this memorial was for Bud V Nickell (1905-1964) and there was no Gladys V Nickell in that area. She checked with the cemetery.
I'm in Oklahoma so I'm just going by what the volunteer researched. In my family we have a "Bud Vernon Nickell" born 1905 and died 1964 buried in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Dot is the sister of my ggrandfather. I have the management of all of his siblings except Dot. I just submitted a correction for her name (maiden name was missing and nickname). Would you mind transferring her memorial to me?
|Jay Wright||Hildebrechts revisited|
Thanks, Tiffany. I just sent you a couple of 'new' SACs for Lucille's husband, Frederick Hildebrecht. One of them will restore the link between their memorials that accidentally got deleted. The other just adds his place of birth. BTW, I think I figured out why that glitch in the system deleted the husband-wife link. I think it must have to do with whether the original link was started from the husband's memorial or the wife's memorial: it it was put in from the husband's memorial, and I'm sending a SAC about the wife's memorial and I leave the spouse blank, the system thinks I'm trying to say the spouse is unknown, so it deletes him. If you didn't follow what I just tried poorly to explain, it's not worth worrying about. :-) Your help is much appreciated. Oh, and, no thanks to the transfer -- I'm not related. -- Jay
|Jay Wright||RE: Hildebrecht|
Funny you should ask, Tiffany, because earlier today I wanted to upload an image of Lucille's marriage record to your memorial, but I couldn't do it because I kept getting an "image not available -- try again later" message. But I just now did succeed in uploading it. You'll see that, yes, her maiden name was Holmes, and her parents were Elmer Holmes and Winifred Cowman. I think you were reacting just to the "name change" SAC; you should also have received a separate SAC requesting links to her father and mother. HOWEVER, I'm glad you asked, because that last SAC (I just looked at my copy of it) makes it appear that I wanted to delete the link to her husband (Fred/Frederick Hildebrecht), and that wasn't my intention at all. I had a similar experience once before with the 'new' SACs. Apparently if, as I did here, I add the number for the father and the number for the mother and leave the number for the spouse unchanged (because I don't want to do anything to it), it looks to the system as though I'm trying to change the spouse to 'unknown.' So, please add link to father and link to mother and leave spouse alone. The marriage to Hildebrecht must have been brief if she reverted to the use of her maiden name Holmes for her son. Let me know if I can help straighten out anything else. -- Jay
|Steve||RE: Jerry Gans|
While I must apologies one hundred times, When I replied I was thinking of Jerry Thomas also my uncle. You are totally right Jerry Gans is buried at Greenlawen. His parents are also there Alpha and Ed Gans,: I was talking to my mom about Jerry Thomas today and It dawned on me I gave you the wrong info. Sorry sorry sorry: I will make the correction but if you know the plot I would greatly like to have it. I have Parkinson and walking the grounds up there cause me to loss my balance.

I am sorry the Jerry Gans at Greenlawn is not the same Jerry Gans.
The Jerry Gans at Union is my uncle he is buried in the masonic section of the cemetery. My mother is his sister and she is still alive but his father J Edward Gans and mother Alpha Gans are buried at Greenlawn.
Jerry family is from the east and we talk often, mostly about trying to locate what happen to his wife, when she passed her boy friend took her ashes and that was it.
