I have been interested in genealogy for 30 years and have written over a dozen family history books, the first one being in 1979. The majority of our family vacations in the 1980s & 1990s revolved around cemeteries and visiting relatives. (Our kids ask why there are so many photos of them posing on headstones!)|
When I started on FindAGrave, I kept busy adding our own family members. I knew where most were buried but some had to be searched for. In 2013, my husband and I took a trip through Montana, North Dakota and Minnesota and, in the process, found lots of folks to whom we were not related. I've created memorials for them adding as much additional information as I could find. We were able to fill dozens of photo requests; it felt good being able to pay forward all of the requests that volunteers have filled for us.
I endeavor to make memorials as complete as possible, including headstone photos, bios and links. (By the way, I have gotten permission from several newspapers for the obits I have posted.)
Most of our memorials are family members, but we'll happily consider transfers if you are more closely related.
You are welcome to use any of the photos we have posted but we would enjoy hearing from you if you do use any.
FindAGrave has added so much to my life. I love being a part of it!
p.s. I no longer add "burial unknown" memorials, and am working on the remaining 9. At this point, I have 123 cremations, 1 donated to science, 2 lost at sea and 2 in unmarked graves.

You are welcome! When I encounter a family plot like that, I figure it takes very little time to photograph the whole thing and may save time in the longrun as there may be requests added for those graves later and here I am already in the spot! I wish I had made a note about the exact location of the two children. I THINK they were to the right of Addie. I do plan to return there this fall to fulfill more requests since there were so many that I couldn't get to them all yesterday. I will try to double check on that and let you know. I, too, was delighted by the musical carvings on the Etling monument, because I am a musician myself. It peaked my curiosity! Then I saw the info on their memorial that they were music teachers. Such a nice touch to include that on their marker!

|Vonette ||Addie Wells grave photo|
Hello! I have fulfilled your request for a photo of the grave of Addie Wells in Milton-Freewater, OR. I thought it might help you to know that she is buried next to several other Wells and a Millikin (her maiden name I believe?). So, I photographed those as well and have added the photos to the existing memorials for them. The photos I added were for Raymond Wells, Ellen Wells, Lawrence Eugene Wells, Wayne Wallace Wells, Herman E. Wells, Iva M. Wells Williams, and Wesley O Millikin. You should be able to find their memorials by doing a search of the cemetery. Hope that helps!

You have an interest in the Find A Grave memorial for Henry Lincoln Bryant. He was married to my grandmother's sister, Georgiana Crary Bryant. Are you related to the Bryant family, the Crary family?
Thank you for posting the picture of Hugh McBride's tombstone, also for making the memorial for his wife. I have linked them together. I don't know anymore info on her.

Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to photograph my ancestor Inez Ranum Acock:s cemetery marker. Being so far away, I am grateful that you would do that for me. J

I was photographing Oakland Cemetery today and thought you might like to know that I found his gravestone and added the photos to his memorial. I also added a memorial for his wife Maria Burlingame Bryant. I'll transfer it to you if you like.
