Cadmus is the combined efforts of the Stone family in Pulaski County, Kentucky. Our hopes are that our listings will help others to find family and friends no matter how distant. |
We feel this site can be a great aid in copping with grief after the loss of a loved one. We have contributed countless hours and efforts in adding memorials and biographical information to Find A Grave. The majority of the memorials we have added are of people unknown to us. These were added with the greatest respect.
If you would like a transfer of a memorial of someone please be nice there is no need to be rude or unfriendly. We consider all transfer requests that are submitted to us but reserve the choice to adhere to Find A Grave guidelines for memorial transfers. (direct-line/ four generations). Please remember that there are thousands of contributors to Find A Grave and it is highly likely that some of those contributors may be part of your family tree and share some of your ancestors. The goal is not to own every memorial of those to whom you may be related to but to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it. We keep a listing of all the memorials we have transferred in our virtual cemetery section enabling us to stop by from time to time and leave flowers.
Researching our family Genealogy and History has become an enjoyable pastime for us. When adding memorials to Find A Grave note: Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act of 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use. Obituaries for the use of Genealogy and Historical Research are covered under this act. An obituary is simply a form that recites the facts, it may not reach the unique creation test of copyright law and therefore would not be legally copyrighted but credit should be given to the original creator.
If you would like to contribute information to someone's biography or if we have made a mistake in our information to any of the interments we have listed, please don't hesitate in contacting us. Please do not place death certificates or newspaper obits on any of the memorials we have created. We would rather you send us an "edit / Suggest a correction or an addition" and we will be happy to add the information to the memorial's biographical section. We prefer to utilize the picture area for photos and grave markers for these people to be remembered by.
If you are adding memorials to Find A Grave please add all the information you can to the listings, remember this is a tribute in memory to someones life not just another number on your way to being a top contributor. Please remember to always check for existing memorials before adding a memorial to the database so not to create duplicate memorials. In the event of two or more memorials, the memorial with the lowest number is the first and original memorial. (With the exception of unscrupulous methods which are easily detected by admins). So please "Search" before you create and/or sponsor any memorials.
We would like to thank our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ for blessing us with the ability to help those who have gone before us because we know that we only live as long as we are remembered.
Thank you to everyone who has left flowers, tokens and kind words for our loved ones. If you have time we would appreciate your visiting these memorials that are In need of Flowers.
~♱~ღ~ WHEN YOU REMEMBER ~♱~ღ~
When you remember me, it means that you have carried something of who I am with you, that I have left some mark of who I am on who you are. It means that you can summon me back to your mind even though countless years and miles may stand between us. It means that if we meet again, you will know me. It means that even after I die, you can still see my face and hear my voice and speak to me in your heart. For as long as you remember me, I am never entirely lost. (Arthur Unknown)

Cadmus, Thank you for your kind offer, but I am not related. Everytime I would read one of the pages in the old editions of the Central Record newspaper it had a huge banner advertisement for the Joseph Store across the page and it made me curious as to who they were. Since the Joseph family were such a big part of the early history of the town, I added a few obituaries and it kind of snowballed. They left Lancaster in the early 20s and I was just working to link them up since they ended up so far away from each other. Thanks again :) Laura.

|Pamela Thompson||Gravestone Photo Permission|
I am happy to see that you photographed the gravestone of Marvin Alford in Ocean Woods Memorial Cemetery (Memorial# 24935745).
I would like to add this gravestone photo to the (non-profit) Alford American Family Association's collection of South Carolina Obituaries, where his obituary is (or will be) included. You can see the current collection at http://www.alfordassociation.org/OBITS/SCOBIT.htm.
May I have your permission to include your gravestone photos? If so, the photo caption will say:
Photo from [cemetery name, city, county, state]—www.findagrave.com
Permission granted by the photographer, Cadmus [or name if you prefer]
And thanks so much for your gravestone photo work!

Hello Cadmus, so sorry to hear about your Uncle. Please accept my condolences for his loss. Thanks for letting me know so that I could pay my respects. He was such a gifted, multi-talented individual & I love the fact that he was an animal lover, especially 'feeding the Squirrels' in the backyard. I enjoyed reading about his life.
My blessings to you and the family.
BTW: I was curious about "Coins left on Tombstones", but was unable to access.

BROKEN CHAIN by Ron Tranmer
We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
May God richly bless you and yours,
