Bio and Links
To whom it may concern, my bio is my bio, I have been a findagrave member for quite a few years. I am not a name collector like others, but I am territorial and would like to be able to place memorials up for people in my area (Ashland, Fountain Springs, Gordon, Girardville, Lavelle, Locustdale)that are in the local newspapers and funeral home websites, but alas I can't, someone from far away keeps putting them up.

If you are going to put memorials up and if the info is provided in the obit (aka-bio), please enter it. Don't just leave the places born & died blank because it is quicker for you to enter them and grab them before someone else does.
Do it correctly or don't do it at all.

I know my area (North of the mountain) of Schuylkill county very well and what I don't know I make sure to find out.

And UPDATE, UPDATE, I am slowly but surely adding cemmie records for a certain cemetery in my area, I have the letters A, B,C,D,E,F,& G done so far.
I have also transcribed the St Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Middleport, Pennsylvania
Helped with Odd Fellows in Girardville; St Joseph's (Old & New), Ashland; and St Mauritius (Old & New), also Ashland. Sts Peter & Paul, Port Carbon. With more to come as time & weather permits. Upcoming Citizens Cemetery, Lavelle.
Big Thanks to fellow deceased Findagraver- Keith McKain, for entering all the pictures and memorials that you did for me.
If it were not for you entering them for me, those 2700 plus memorials in Schuylkill co area wouldn't be up there now and Big Thanks to FAG, for turning them over to me to maintain.
And also hats off to Tim Gruber, whose numerous memorials I also manage.

Joanne...hope you don't mind...I added a photo I took the other day for the Suhanicks in Transfiguration Cemetery. I was there looking for some relatives. I took some photos for photo requests and then took some extras around my relatives. If you don't like the photo, feel free to delete it. No problem.

Zimmerman @ St. Pauls
Thanks for your note about Marion L. (Keller) Zimmerman. I've added a link in the bio to her actual burial location (with William R. Price). Will contact the Admins to have her memorial at St. Paul's ECC Cemetery marked as a Cenotaph.

RE: Re- Preputnick
Hi! Thanks for the offer, but no need, you did a great job. My great-grandmother's name was Preputin, so I always thought there might be a connection with this family but it must have been in Europe a long time ago. Thanks, Bill

RE: Re- Preputnick
Thanks Joanne! I found most of the rest of his parents and siblings and made memorials for them, so I'm glad that you got him in the right place and linked back to his family. Thanks again, Bill

RE: Miller
It is entirely up to you I am not blood related but she was our best friends mother. Thank you for the kind gesture and again it is up to you. Take care.

RE: Updates
You might try calling the funeral home, they are required to keep a copy of the "Disposition of Human Remains" form and it should say who took custody of his remains. If it was a cemetery they should be able to tell you which one. If it was a family member, I don't think they will tell you which one.

RE: Updates
Good morning Joanne,

It depends on the cemetery, but most of the larger cemeteries (like the Gap) update the list within 24 to 48 hours "after interment" not after the death date. It takes longer at the smaller cemeteries because of staffing. At larger cemeteries, the cemetery staff updates the DVA website on the day of interment and the information is available us the next working day. At the smaller cemeteries, updating the database isn't as high of a priority so they do it when they can. Sometimes they can be 4 or 5 weeks behind updating the list.

I have a list of memorials at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (ALNC). The list is for memorials that need to have photographs uploaded. The list includes 270 memorials that were created for people who are not listed by the DVA as being buried there yet (ALNC updates the DVA listing w/in 36 hours). Over 90% of the 270 memorials on my list have obituaries that say they are (or will be) interred at ALNC. Most are cremations and the ashes were turned over to a relative who hasn't scheduled interment yet.

If you have a memorial at the Gap that is over 4 weeks old, my guess is that the family hasn't scheduled interment yet or they did something else with the remains after the obituary was posted (and the obituary can't be updated).

btw: Arlington National Cemetery does so many burials a day that scheduling the horse draw carriages with full-dress military honor guards, live bugler(s), 21-gun salutes, etc., etc., can take several months. Most, but not all, interments at Arlington are months (and up to a year) after the death date.
